You're Locked in a Haunted Russian School and want to capture paranormal activity for your followers. You realise soon enough you might have gotten in a much scarier situation than you bargained for. Will you survive this encounter?
In this video we are playing the Summer of 58. This is a short indie horror game from the same creators as the wonderful Locked Up. The Summer of 58 is a genuinely TERRIFYING game that gave me several heart attacks. This game builds beautiful and horrific tension, I loved it! Hope you enjoy! It's not actually a school. Pioneers where the USSR's equivalent to scouts. So it's more like "I got trapped inside a scout camp"

The camp was apparently abandoned in 1958, but the newspaper that you pick up talks about Yuri Gagarin's historical first human spaceflight, which happened on April 12th, 1961. Also, Soviet newspapers wouldn't just casually report on such a bizarre tragedy as not to alarm the public. Also also, the disappearance of all people from an entire pioneer camp would be an unimaginable emergency of national proportions (as in Politburo itself would probably keep track of investigations) - not only the police, but also KGB would strip the whole place down to the last board searching for evidence - no clues would be left to be found half a century later. My immersion is ruined. 8)

OK, self-correction: Upon looking at the newspaper closer, it seems that it actually talks about Sputnik-1 - Earth's first artificial satellite, launched to orbit on October 4th, 1957. So, that part checks out. :)

This game is kinda funny because this place is basically in the same condition my elementary school was in when I stayed in the middle of nowhere outside of Yekaterinburg with my Aunt and Uncle for a year. Once I moved to Canada, the culture shock was real.

The camp was pretty good and scary, though a few times the character's stupidity kinda ruined it. The hospital was surprisingly very boring with poorly and lazily integrated jump scares. I usually jump with you on scares while watching but that bit I was entirely unfazed. Still interested in the next one about witches though and can't wait to see you play it.

I wasn't a fan of Locked in, it became very clear to me very early on that there wasn't a threat anywhere, so I wasn't scared and the atmosphere fell apart very quickly. The strange time travel parts also didn't seem to add anything. However, this game I can dig. It has a much better atmosphere and the fact that you get bonked shows that there is actually a threat there, the time travel intermission only happens once and tells a very clear story. So good job to the developer, I think you did much better this time!

Goddamit, I missed this stream =(. As a russian I can say - this camp looks like ones where I was in childhood (1999 as I can remember). I was in smth like old twin-camps, and second one was abandoned. ofc we all believed that abandoned camp was haunted =) Rumors said that it was closed long before I arrived because a boy died in there and now you can sometimes see his ghost in a daytime looking at you from the dark window on 2nd floor.... Booo! That brings warm memories - we were children and wanted adventures XD Definitely need to play this game!

Well, third night was kinda chilly, but dissapointing too. Amount of jumpscares really took me out of an immersion. After this atmospheric, taking-its-time adventure in the camp, it just became kinda a jumpscary rollercoaster. Go to the next room and get a jumpscare - repeat until finished.

Funny thing heart transplants weren't even done untill Dec 3rd 1967. Yet in Russia that was not done until 20 years later in 1987. So the picture "the doctors were wrong he needs a heart transplant" thing means she was an alien or from the future whichever fits.
