There is something very creepy about all of them, like they are under hypnosis. A big fishing net could be used to pull them to the pavement and they would just lie inside it, clawing at the net in slow motion.

We shouldn't hate them, we should pity them. These are people who have led comfortable yet incredibly mundane lives with nothing to note, and they're at an age where time and money isn't an issue but their own mortality and lack of legacy is a concern. So of course when someone say to them, you can save the world by slow walking on a highway, they eagerly jump on it for personal fulfilment.

If I lived where they regularly do this I would modify my car the way we did in high school with one small exception. We used to by a Chrysler washer fluid pump at the junkyard. They are way overpowered. Then we install than and run a clear hose into the cabin. When we drive past idiots we would point the hose out the window and spray them. The tweak to the system for these fools is get multiple pumps and fill the reservoir with urine.

Not to mention, wouldn't the oil still be needed, in order to power electric cars and whatnot? Not to mention the amount of products that can be produced from oil? At this point, its throwing the baby out with the dishwater. It would be better for them to go and actually RESEARCH energy alternatives, and spread the word about such a subject instead. And do it in a way that will actually get people to WANT to listen to you.
