I'm really looking forward to the unity programming tutorials I think game engines are incredibly powerful tools I've used Unity to create a robotics controller on my KZbin channel. I plan to use Unity for a lot more robotics applications in the future. Thanks for all your hard work 🙂

You're the best tutorial creator I've watched, your sense of humour and shorter videos are unbeatable. I love character creation, I am more inclined to realism and as I worked with information systems for companies I am very worried with performance, which I think is a good thing I'm not crazy about animation, I guess it's because the idea of the model repeating the same poses forever creeps me out, I implemented some procedural animation in Unity based on some regular animations, things like stop at this frame/normal time, start at this frame, I wish it could be more procedural with less work It seems you changed from Unity to Unreal, I would like to know why
@RaichuWizDom4 жыл бұрын
I think it was Austin Kleon, or he was quoting someone in his book, who said that 'An expert in a field is someone who's read three books on the subject.' The logic being that normal people don't read three books on the same topic, so to distinguish yourself from them is pretty easy, even if you don't reach world top levels. Another way to look at it is your average F2P game: people who get up to rank 5 or whatever make up a small percentage of players, because the vast majority of players simply give up or don't invest time into their ranks. I'm looking forward to the shading tutorial. Still a writer first, hobbyist at that, so my goals are different from most, but your channel's given me something concrete to try to solve the art problems of the past... five-ish years, and it was a good motivator to look for solutions in places I hadn't tried yet. There are some neat tricks you can do with bone constraints, for example, like fan bones for the eyelids or a Transform constraint that might work in place of a driver, that sort of thing. Potentially, at least, there's some issues showing up in early testing that'll need to be figured out. Gotta get the story right first, though, work on character art in between. Best wishes, and good luck on all your endeavours.

You are not only the best blender tutorial channel in all of youtube with a ridiculous fast output, and on top of that you are probably one of the most engaged I've ever seen. So really big thank you and please take care of yourself that you don't burn out to. Regarding the discord, I think you don't need to be super active there, even though there are probably some fanboys looking for your attention. Providing a hub for your community is in my opinion more than enough. I was forced into the role of the animator of a student project about a year ago despite never have touched anything 3D before in my life. And you made it possible for me to get that project done! And since then it's probably my favorite field in game arts (even though I specialize as a game designer).

The whole wasting life thing hit hard... thats why im so grateful for you, royal. Rarely does an educator respect their students time and life, and more so than any college or online course have you shown that you are empathetic enough to not only look back on your experience, but be kind enough to help others because of what you went through. Im in college for game art right now and have sure has hell learned a lot more from shorter udemy courses and the amazing youtube community like you than any class would have. idk what im trying to say. Im appreciative of you, and I can assure it was not time wasted. You have a legacy, we are real people! I hope within the next few days I decide what I want to focus, I love it all, but want a nice portfolio! You're the man, mr. skies!

@the5amkebab9714 жыл бұрын
Read my mind, the direction you're going in is exactly what the 3D community needs, and in your "straight to the meat and potatoes" style instead of all the other teachers that purposely drag out their videos as long as possible with useless filler so they can fit more ads in or brag how many hours their course has. Learning 3D is hard work, last thing we need are "gurus" unnecessarily wasting our time which actually limits what you learn. You da man!

Dude.. You're a goddamn legend. I'm a super novice at all this. My goal was to be able to create, rig, and dress characters for Animation and VR purposes. I binged 2 1/2 weeks of blender tutorials. 12 hours a day and learned step by step. A lot of experimenting and fucking up. Felt pretty hopeless at first. With a few provided models and other nonsense I was slowly understanding. When I found your channel in the second week.. my course for learning and understanding was accelerated 10x. I actually understood where I would fuck up and why. The shortcuts and little things that made things amazingly simple and easy to digest.. I throw your channel to everyone I know. I mean fuck dude, I made my own tutorial (on another channel) to help 5yr+ 3d artist convert, rig, and setup for VR because of what I learned with you. I've even fixed models for people outta my league. I can't wait to see what you have to teach us in the coming year. Thank you so much.

You said in the video you think you wasted the prime of your life. I just hit 30, and lemme tell you, I'm just now hitting my prime. If anyone is under 30 and you're doing what you enjoy doing, you haven't missed anything. I started doing everything 3D at 27 (from default cube to game asset). I'm not amazing, but I don't feel like i wasted my early 20's by not finding this hobby sooner. All this keeps your mind young and I promise 4 years of wasted college is nothing. Love the tuts, I always come back when I get stuck

Well, I'll tell you. Loved all of the steps. I started developing a 3D game a few weeks back and thanks to you I was able to go through all the steps the right way from Blender to Godot. It all started as a hobbie, but now I'm taking this little project seriously. The experience was a lot more enjoyable thanks to you, I may end up going full indie/solo game developer after getting my degree, may be even before. Anyways thanks for the kind video, it can sometimes be hard to be a beginner, you can be discouraged when there's no one to help you, and you obviously want people to not give up in their own journeys. When I finish my project I'll be here saying thanks for the help and showing you what your ancient techniques were used for. Hope that helps. Have a faantAstIc day and I'll see you around.

Your channel has really saved my bum as I was learning sculpting and advanced rigging. The thing I find most fun is weight painting, while the thing I hate most is a thing that I haven't even touched yet and that is retopology. I'm not rich enough to afford those high end retopology add-ons the pros swear by. I've yet to find the one thing that will help me in my struggles to keep the details I sculpted. I hear shrinkwrap works but I'm insecure af to give it a try.

What I truly loved the most (and what made me subscribe) were your videos on procedural materials/textures. I won't lie it took me awhile to figure out what version of blender you are using and why I didn't have as many options on a lot of my nodes, but I enjoyed every single video you put out and utilized some form or another in my own projects. You do a fantastic job with these videos and I hope that you continue to produce them for anyone wanting to learn 3D modeling for years to come! I even recommended..... forced friends to watch your videos who ask me how to learn 3D modeling lol

Hey! Royal skyies I really just want to say thanks for making this this playlist, cause the first video of this playlist taught me my most important lesson on 3d... And it is that 3d art is not for me!😅 Cause what I want to do is tell my stories, and like you said, if that is the case I shouldn't go further cause the amount of time I would spend learning everything I need to tell a story in 3d is too much... I already invested alot of time in learning just the basics of 3d softwares and their is still a long way to go before I can tell stores with this art form So I'm just going to spend all the time I would have otherwise spent in becoming a jack of all trades in 3d animation and invest that time in years of experience in story telling in a comicbook art style cause I'm already really good at drawing One again thanks for the advice.

I remember starting with blender 5 years ago, it was so hard to find sth, luckily Mc-animation where still popular at that time so I looked everything up from there, I was 11 at that time and did a lot of mistakes like never trying things out my own, 2 years ago I really wanted to get into animation and i did, It went pretty well but when I finally found this channel everything was way easier, I could finally learn faster and make my childhood dream come true, I'm now 16 and this year I've become a mc-Animator (I model my own stuff sculpt and rig them, sometimes even texture but I mostly use the shader.) with the mission to try to bring a little joy into some ppl life's back, maybe even the old days, I believe that someday I might be able to do sth amazing which everyone will fall in love with, but I also know that I might fail which also belongs to the way of success thanks for sharing everything with us

Your content is quick, concise, gives everything we need, and a little more, but just in a quick couple seconds. When I see what I need, sometimes I even do a slow pass, by going frame by frame. The part I hate most? The part that isn't even part of Blender, which is video editing. It's not hard, nor does it take long. I just don't like it for some reason.
