The US Constitution promises protections against the SOR that encompasses laws that violate the protections which the Constitution promises cannot be taken away and cannot be given up. The case of Marbury vs. Madison has ruled that the Constitution trumps all laws. The SOR then is a criminal Enterprise of states engaging in repugnant laws that amount to those on the registry being treated like garbage. Will our Constitution rule the day? No judge cares about our Constitution, otherwise the SOR would be overturned. There is no other option. But judges, statesmen, councils, and lawmakers are all complicit in criminal activity every time the bring up the words of the SOR. They should all be in jail for their criminal behavior.

No matter how the sex offender issue is looked upon, its obviously a violation of civil rights after the offender pays their debt to society through prison. We should all be careful of laws like these because today it's sex offenders rights being violated & tomorrow it could be drunk drivers, arsonist, murderers....in other words, this can eventually spill over & effect civil rights down the line for those that make mistakes & aren't offended forgiveness from society.

The fact is that this group has the lowest rates of recidivism. They are also the most likely group to be wrongfully convicted. Not everyone on the list actually harmed anyone. Almost everyone who commits these crimes were victims as a child. They are the only group that even if convicted and sentenced to the maximum sentence still ends up paying for their crime for the rest of their lives. Some states even hold them on civil commitments long after they complete their sentence. If a SO moves in next door to you the state wants you to know. If a murderer just released moves in next door the state does not feel the need to notify. A drug dealer who sells a product that kills people is treated better by the system than any SO. It's also another fact that the punishment is always more severe for men than a woman. Do they deserve to be punished for their crimes? Absolutely. Do they deserve to be punished beyond their incarceration? Absolutely not.

I read a interesting article on the weaponasation of sex offense laws. They're so easy to prosecute and requires very little than word of mouth to secure a arrest. I have a friend who had a prior from when he was a kid who's now civilly committed and not likely to ever get out. He worked 3 jobs, owned his home. He took in a homeless friend who had a kid. She wouldn't pay rent and ate up all his food. He put in to evict her and a couple days later he's in jail for diddling her kid. He lost his life so she could bilk him out of a extra month or two of free living. This was a good example of using sex offense as a weapon against another. Innocent people get hurt and takes credibility from legit cases.

Best of luck, but it's a waste of time to even consider a "worldwide" effort. Countries/nations don't make laws based upon those of other nations. It's tough enough getting one state (in the US) to do anything based upon a neighboring state. Gettin gthe Us, GB or Japan to do something simply because the other is doing it isat best, a long shot, at reality, a no-shot.I (strongly)suggest you focus your eforts on YOUR nation. And again, good luck.

My son got arrested for having like 8 pics and one video of girls under 18 and is looking at up to 10 years in prison. He didn’t contact anyone in any way just found the pics on the internet and so there is no victims named. All he’s ever done is work and has no criminal history whatsoever not even a traffic ticket. His public defender talked him into pleading guilty and he was detained until sentencing and he is going to lose his pickup and everything he’s worked for. He is just simply not a criminal but he has definitely been treated like one. I used to have a lot of respect for the criminal justice system but I have lost that

You're both really eloquent!! My friend will love this! Michael! When you speak about low recidivism, it is well worth adding that the great majority of rapes and other sexual crimes that will be committed by registered sex offenders will not lead to an arrest let alone reconviction. The actual rates of recidivism, as far as I know, are unknown. So be cautious.

You comment is a bit confusing; if a person is "registered" then they've not only been "caught," they 've been convicted (or plead). And once registered, they are under greater "observation" than ANY oner group (save maybe, terrorist) on the planet, making it so very difficult to do anything illegal-without getting caught. And, the "rate of recidivism" isn't based upon what you or I know or think, it's based upon empirical evidence; how many said individuals are arrested for a new crime.

One thing that I've found curios is the fact that we have all these anon support groups for healing and preventing future poor behaviors that mostly only effect the person getting the help and are only tangentially prosecutable. And yet if someone is seeing themselves going down a path like the 'Luis' case, where do they go to get help before or without being arrested and sentenced to life on the registries. If the goal was truly about prevention, then where is the effort to prevent before the offence has occurred.

Your right. This country is always trying to rehab and help find ways for people to do better. We don’t do the same for sex offenders. We treat them like the worst kind of dirt and other crimes are nisy as harmful, some such as murder is worse.
@brittanyritenour4695
@brittanyritenour4695 Жыл бұрын
Right they aren’t trying to prevent. They aren’t studying it and people who work with sex offenders in prison don’t see the same things the public is seeing. These aren’t monsters. Many of them either made a mistake and aren’t even sex offenders by nature at all and others have struggles that need help. They can’t find anyway to seek help. Some of these offenders were once victims of sexual abuse themselves such as the person I personally know. Was a victim themselves but growing up was never allowed to talk about it and never got treatment for it. People hush sexually problems. Eventually this victim started seeking the same kind of attention as he did as a child because that was the only kind of love he knew. Working with this person he has learned to understand his pattern was to seek love thru the way he was abused and has become a better person and understands. Making their life better to heal and deal with the trauma they faced as a child. Now this person is a monster but was once a victim that never got any proper help.

So when I see people fighting so hard for victims and then threatening the sexual offenders. I think to myself your a hypocrite. This monster was once the Victimn your fighting for but why did he never get help for it? No one fought for his innocence!when I look at his child picture. That was a voice that never got heard. Abuse affects people mentally. Being forced to hush, because no one wants to deal with it. Some of these monsters we are talking about were once child victims and the person I know was. I still care about this person. I know I’m this person eyes you can see the abuse in the persons face still lingering on. The pain all the years of suffering with a death sentence as a child and now is getting another death sentence as an adult from a chance of being understood, healing the hidden wounds, creating a happy chance at life, and getting a chance to be truly loved. Has been stripped from this person by those who so hardly believe they are protecting victims. He was a Victimn…

I always found it funny how if you let a drug user move into the neighborhood the crime rate goes up. If a sex offender moves to a neighborhood the crime rate stays the same but they'll rake these guys across the coals and give parole after parole to homicidal, gun toting, cracked out drug dealers with mean streaks a mile wide. Sex offenders get a bad rap but druggies get chance after chance and their product often perpetuates the criminal activities that keep crime rates high. That and they'll steal anything in sight to sell to get high. I'd rather have a sex offender for a neighbor than a druggie. I want to keep the stuff I worked hard to pay for.

I would like to tell my story briefly, I am one of the first group of people to be placed on Megan’s law in 1994 For lifting up a girl skirt at school I just turned 14 years old . I am now 43 years old which means I been on there for 30 years . I was forced to drop out of school in the 8th grade because of this and I choose to work instead. I choose to learn about Glass which is called a Glazier and I am one of the best Glaziers in the country. Why have I been on there so long is the million dollar question ? At the age of 18 I had consensual sex with a 14 year old who told me she was 17 , she got pregnant and that’s how my name came up. I was arrested and was told her real age. I did 2 years in prison and was released in 2003 I then found out I would have to be on Megan’s law for 15 years with a parole officer and was given dozens of Unhuman rules , requirements and restrictions I was completely shocked. I Did about 7 years and they found out I was one of the top 10 charcoal artists in the country and just opened my own Glass company LLC . I was starting to make the papers from my art so they took me off the registry but kept me on supervised psl. I ended up doing 15 years on parole or Psl as they call it and the most I got was a small motor vehicle ticket in all that time. I was easily removed from the psl after 15 years which was 2018 , my lawyer was fighting for me to be removed from Megan’s law all together but the court said hey remember when u were 14 and lifted a girl skirt up ? Well we are not removing u off . That made me stronger to be even more successful, so I started more businesses and always stayed as a Glazier to the point where I became so good no matter what glass company I worked for I was the highest paid employee. I was never fired from a job because of this , I never was turned down from a job , I was never denied a apartment or house. I have horror stories from life on psl and I mean horror stories. I would like to tell those stories along with how I beat them and didn’t fail in life and right now I am extremely successful. I earn a 6 figure salary, I had No problems since I been removed from Psl until Now . I had a opportunity in Arizona where I can double my success and the NJ detective found out and violated me for leaving NJ and not telling Arizona police that I was there to work within 10 days smh . I am pissed that Law does Not want anyone on Megan’s law to be successful. I have a story where a police officer tried to set me up in NJ for crimes he knew I didn’t commit and if I didn’t have the money or resources I would have went back to jail and everything I done would have been wasted. But I out smarted him and hired a private investigator and he got the truth and all charges was dropped with a apology from the judge I have that report right now in my icould that I want to make public a long with all the illegal stuff I seen in these past 30 years . I have stories and proof that will raise so many eyebrows My email is alluniqueconstruction@gmail.com

I can almost understand being "discernably turgid", which means if you are aroused as a male and someone can figure that out using all 5 senses and a common device on their person unrestrained to the best of their ability, being "public indecency", but the fact it is "indecent exposure" and puts you on a sex offense registery (PRAY A CHILD IS NOT WITHIN 1000 YARDS) is absolutely insane. Any feminist woman who ever even unknowingly was sexually aroused in public needs to shut up about men not not having rights to their bodies and that they have no restrictions. Most women would be in jail as a sex offender if they had the accountability of a man for 1 year. What millenial woman never once had sex with a man with a blood alcohol over .08 and therefore could not legally be able to consent? How many high profile "me too" convictions were transparent romance scams and were sentenced anyway?

Oh F this. I was curious about the title but I need to leave. My level of disdain towards idiotic society is so high. It reminds me of the murderer-rapists in prison trying to be morally superior by judging and murdering someone who is 19 who had sex with his 17 yr old girlfriend... Nah bub, you're MUCH worse than that "sex offender," and in the VERY WORST cases, you all are equally sht. I remember when my uncle got caught for literally letting his robe swing open by his step kids who hated him cuz he was strict. He purportedly did it ONCE when he had to run out of the bathroom in a hurry. It was the oddest legal debacle I have ever seen in my life, especially because I know my cousins VERY WELL. Tbh, they are some of the biggest druggie whores in Ohio. When we talked about it, they laughed like hell about it and meanwhile this dude's life is demolished. Just incredible. Both I AND SOCIETY are lucky I never got caught for stuff I did when I was a stupid teen. I looked at EVERYTHING on the net during my curious explorative phase of life. I got it out of my system in a year or two and never looked back. I don't even look at vanilla porn to this day. I have 3 speeding tickets in my life for my entire criminal record. But IF I was treated like this by society... oooo... anything I say after this could potentially literally get me indicted. Suffice to say that I would not be happy about it...

@@TwistedSanity249 Firstly, this is all hyperbole and obviously not serious. We are just venting here... But I know what you mean... There are ~ 3 or so freaky, shit-in-the-fan level situational-fears I have, where it's like dead-ends in life that I know I MUST avoid at all costs... For random instance, I got another fun hypothetical for ya': You are in th worst chronic pain imaginable and a doctor refuses to give you pain meds that would uttrly relieve it (docs are getting so scared at this point that they're beginning to straight refuse to treat legitimate pain patients). That's another situation where it might get to inevitable psycho-time. I mean, to sit there in serious pain, night after night, dwelling on the fact that your hand was arbitrarily slappd away from accessing ample relief sitting right on a shelf somewhere... that would send me off the deep end. The scariest part of some of this stuff is how sure I would be about it... I would feel like my actions were literally fighting evil or truly evil people (I mean, wouldn't one have to be evil to leave you in intractable serious pain?). If i had to go out in order to put up a resistence against a genuine evil, so be it.

in canada the registry is not public facing and an offender does not get put on it until the 2nd offense. if you can earn a certificate of rehabilitation you can petition canada to allow you to migrate to canada.. and they have lots of jobs.. this is what ive found out watching all these youtube sex offender registration vids.. also these u.s.a. sex offender laws have been ruled to be inhumane in Germany. and you wont be listed if you can migrate there and ask for asylum based on inhumane sex offender registry. in the ghana they dont treat sex offenders any differently than non sex offenders. you can go there and petition for citizenry and change your name. also quit your american citizenship so you can travel most everywhere without issues. you can reclaim your life. you might have to learn new languages. but you can live like a human and no one cares about youre sex offense. I wish i had the money to migrate. The reality i live in is horrendous here in the u.s. I committed my crime in 2002 and i was forced to register upon the charges. not conviction. and then i should be getting off the active registration in a couple years. but i still dont have money to petition the court or sustain my self in basic living. I was forced to register in prison and you know. every u.s. american hates an ex sex offender. so it turns out that the u.s. has used its muscle to get mexico to not allow sex offenders to enter mexico.. money is tied to this hate.. used their muscle to get china an phillipines to not allow sex offenders there and actually kicked out ex sex offender residents there in both countries. once your off the public registry; the law still holds you responsible for life to the notification of leaving the country and registering a move to somewhere else. or to work somewhere else. still registering as far as i can understand it. just not public facing. Argentina was a good place to get a new life. but now they have moved politically far right and its hard to go there now.

The gross misunderstanding here, as with nearly everybody who addresses this topic, is the utterly fallacious conflation of the term pedophile with sex offender. The two are NOT synonymous, not on any level. Of all convicted sex offenders and those on the registry are not pedophiles or "child" abusers. The vast majority are totally normal people who simply succumbed to temptation one time with a late, already sexually active, adolescent - which is not a child. A minor, yes, but not a child. Most of these misadventures were consensual. Pedophilia is sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Sexual attraction to a sexually mature teenager is 100% psychosexually normal. Society has decided not to approve of a "legal" adult having sex with an adolescent, perhaps for good reasons, but the legal adult who crosses this line is 98% of the time not a child predator, abuser, or any other sort of deviant. They were just stupid. Any this is just the case for adult/minor contact crimes. The number of totally harmless non-contact crimes that can land someone on the registry. Not only is the registry and all the cottage industries that profit from this a total sham, but the very perception of the "sex offender" is based on bogus interpretations of sexual (some not even sexual) behaviors, and a few heinous crimes that occur so infrequently they are statistically insignificant. It's literally the stuff of Franz Kafha's worst nightmares.

This change in 2014 where they included sexual offenses against children as a life time offense too making three classification in Tennessee. Sex offenders, violet, and sex offenders against children. Additionally 42:10 it was said that recidivism occur at 10% it is actually much lower, it is 5.3%. You mention some states require convicted sex offenders to take a polygraph. Thats true for Missouri where I live. This has me wondering. During my initial investigation I was offered the polygraph with the promise of charges dropped if I pass. When I agreed, because I know damn well I'm innocent, the prosecutor took the deal off the table. One year in jail later he makes the same deal. This time I get to take the polygraph. I pass. Easily. He goes back on his word, like prosecutors do. What happens if I show them my original polygraph that I passed?
@FloridaActionCommittee
@FloridaActionCommittee Жыл бұрын
If a plea agreement isn't in writing before the court then it's worthless. Police and prosecutors lie all the time to get what they want. Point is, you passed the polygraph. Great! Now get a lawyer, take another polygraph administered by a third party and let the lawyer use those to get your charges dropped. A deal worth accepting is one where you don't have to register, anything else is worthless. Staying off the registry - that should be your #1 priority. They want to put you on a registry? Then make them go all the way to a jury trial. (This is opinion as a result of personal experience. This is NOT legal advice.)
