Jurors heard heartbreaking testimony Wednesday morning at Ronnie Oneal’s murder trial. His 11-year-old son answered questions about the day his mom and sister were killed.
The boy was just 8 years old when he said Oneal, his father, attacked him after murdering his mom and 9-year-old sister. He bravely faced his father today.
Investigators have said Oneal shot Kenyatta Baron and beat her with a shotgun, used a hatchet to stab his daughter repeatedly, then stabbed his young son before lighting the boy and their house on fire.

Whst the crap are his social workers and lawyers doing, they never should have exposed him to his father. He did not need to give evidence in order for a conviction. The only positive is he'll be able to sue the state for emotional abuse. They purposefully display the black boys pain not for his mother, sister or himself. Disgusting.

Defendants are granted the right to cross-examine witnesses. If he wasn't allowed to cross-examine this witness its very likely he could appeal the verdict and have the conviction overturned, which would mean they'd need to start a new trial. Its actually ironic. The dad was attempting to use this familiarity to intimidate his son. But it was that familiarity that allowed the son to keep calm. It was routine, an anchor of sorts. @Yourmykill Acknowledging the state of the legalities is not to be confused with laying down moralities. Perfect world , yeah kid shouldnt have to testify and put a bullet in the dads head and save everyone some trouble. The statement that the OP made of “The father just wanted one more time to torture the boy and it was allowed” Is fundamentally incorrect as to what led up to his testimony and the right the father had due to self representing to cross exam the witness which clearly shows the OPs inability to weigh what happened using logic. Your added confusion of morality to legality also shows why your emotional reaction is the very reason laws are needed in the first place.

Also in the state of Florida all adopted children get therapy services and more, based on financial need. What he experienced will be with him the rest of his life, including the burn scars, but he won’t go through it alone. If you google it, the detective was visiting him in the hospital and watching movies with him, then starting bringing his wife and they formed a bond. The child wound up in foster care but the foster parents could not meet his needs so the case worker asked the detective if they would be willing to foster him and they said yes and formally adopted him.

Exactly! Cross examining him in a sense to make him doubt what he witnessed. Typical manipulation tactic that narcissists use

@@teeshante well, yes it's hard for victims, but legally at this point, it is only an accusation. The right to confront the witnesses against you is guaranteed, not for folks like ONeal, but for those who are being falsely accused. Do you want a system where people can accuse you of anything and you not have the right to question them?
