The trial was three years in the making, but after a few hours, a jury found Ronnie Oneal III guilty of the brutal murders of his 11-year-old daughter and mother of his two children in 2018. His son barely survived the attack and lived to testify against his father at the age of 11.
The jury found Oneal guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He was also found guilty of arson, two counts of aggravated child abuse, and resisting an officer without violence.
Oneal sat quietly and did not appear to react as the jury foreman read the verdict at 7 p.m., just over four hours after deliberations began.

when the judge complimented him in his ability to defend himself and said that he was very clear in his presentation she was saying that she was essentially getting rid of any chance of an appeal based any disadvantage he may have had regarding procedure and evidentiary rule. When she strongly recommended that he now allow a lawyer to step in and negotiate sentencing, she was saying that he's about to get the death penalty.

I think the judge was very clever to “compliment “ this scumbag on his defense of his own case, stating she understood everything he was saying and his points of defense, because she wants to make sure he doesn’t try to have the verdict of guilt vacated in an appeal, with an excuse that he didn’t fairly defend himself. Utopian thinkers would create a world where you're not allowed to confront your accusers and your benevolent overlords in the political system (who they recognize as being a bunch of lying, power-hungry snakes when talking in the general sense; absolutely the kinds of people who would abuse the rules) can just deny you a fair trial by calling you incompetent. This wasn't any kind of failure on the justice system's part. They played by a rulebook that's designed to allow a defendant to escape from under the heel of a club of corrupt politicians, police, judges, and bureaucrats. It's 100% Oneal's fault for thinking that he was going to put on his street preacher persona and yell his way out of this.
