Freddie ensured us a small insight into his soul with one of the most beautiful love songs. The recorded version is great, but I prefer this pure, natural and simple performance.

I love this live version and the album version equally - Freddie’s harmonies on the album version are lush!!

Chills and goosebumps every time. And Freddie’s amazing voice… this song could only be written by Freddie who was very vulnerable and romantic.. part of his wonderful charm. The studio version is so lovely beautiful you should watch it. You might like it even more. I love both versions equally ♥️

Gutsy & vulnerable at the same time. Freddie in a nutshell. My melancholy blues is another fantastic piano piece with a subtle assist from John & Roger.

It always amazes me that at the first Freddie told them they need to listen and by the end, the crowd of 150,000 was so mesmerized, you could hear a pin drop.

One of my favourite Freddie performances. This is actually a very dark song which few people pick up on because it’s so beautiful. The song is about an obsession to the point that in the end it turns into stalking.

Welp the “scuttlebutt” is that Freddie wrote this song to WOO that special someone who was in attendance!! With one wag of the finger & “Ya gotta listen to this one” .. the crowd hushes as Freddie performs a not-yet recorded song!! I highly recommend the studio version with all its layered harmonies!! 🏹 💘 💟 🎼

The recipient of this song was sitting in the audience that night - can you imagine? A song Freddie and John did for the film The Highlander is called ONE YEAR OF LOVE. It's got an R&B vibe and the only time you hear a sax on a Queen song that I know. It's got that ache and vulnerability that are Freddie monikers. Queen official lyric only (no live version).

This version is considerably different from the studio, they both have amazing feeling behind them. The studio version is fleshed out, the harmonies are full and it's completely beautiful. The live one is raw, emotional. Both are deserving.

Studio soars in the harmonies and arrangement, but the sheer simplicity & power of raw passion LIVE takes this song to another level.
