Nobody is sleeping on a Panamera... it just costs 2x a comparative 5 series, e class, or a6. You see tons of Panameras in afluent areas.

And there's a reason it's 2x the price. It truly does feel like 2x the car compared to a base 5-series or E-Class.

There is also the fact that the Panamera is a VW platform (the MSB platform), in and of itself hence the massive amounts of parts sharing.... Do you like the Bentley Continental GT or Flying Spur? It's a Panamera and they have been since the inception of the third gen of those cars. Hell, the Taycan/E-tron GT is something of a relative to it since the 9J1 platform is derived from this.

8:54 Cayenne can't get PDK because it needs to be able to tow 3,500kg (since it's an SUV) and the PDK gearbox isn't designed to be able to handle that. Macan gets PDK because it only needs to tow 2,400kg since it's a much smaller car.

I am certainly not sleeping on the Panamera. I simply can’t afford it. I just bought a 2020 BMW M5 for (about) $15K less than a 2017 Panamera with similar miles.

Same here. Got a 2022 RS3 right now and want a Panamera GTS. People see my car and say “oh you can afford it if you can drop 70k on a baby Audi” like no bro I can’t. I don’t even know how to word this nicely but basically its always the 40k salary car guys who’ve never sat down to sign paperwork on an AMG/M/RS that always tell me what I can and can’t afford. They don’t understand that even a new base model Boxter cost more than a 2024 RS3 with every option box checked.

Nice review! IMO Panamera is the 911 on the sedan size. Taycan is the Cayman as it’s smaller and electric (Cayman to be all electric going forward)

The Taycan is the 4-door 911. It's by far the most sporty of Porsche's sedans. The panamera is more of a generic german luxury car, a comppetitor highend 5-series, E-class and A6.

@@leonardschluter7037 idk I’ve driven a G2 Panamara numerous times and I hate the way it feels going around corners. I feel the weight shift drastically and I also feel the backend slipping. Also the funky touchscreen fan controls are a dealbreaker for me. Porsche should gave it the 911 air vents and made it like the 911 interior where you can control the direction with your fingers.

Actually I love the Panamera it’s my favorite Porsche ever made which a lot of people find crazy but it’s just so perfect to me I cannot wait to get mine !

As a 970.2 Panamera 4S owner, the newer models look so much better without the frumpy ass the old ones have. I'm obviously biased but I'm so glad the Panamera exists. I suppose I'm in the minority of people who need a long hatchback but want it to be low, powerful, and luxurious. Will definitely upgrade to a newer one when it's time, but I'm a huge fan.

Love the Panamera, I’d def cop one of these if I had a lot of money and wanted a daily driver sedan, my personal choice would be the 4S E-Hybrid trim though

I was inclined to go with a Panamera (here in Europe). But I wouldn't be allowed to write it off as business. So I decided to go with the Taycan and hell yeah, I'm enjoying! So far so good

IMO it's not that people don't know how good the car is, it's that a fully optioned RS7, M5 or E63 cost less than a base model Panamera with minimal options. It's a great car but it's priced much higher than its competitors

I don't think people are sleeping on it, it's just not a very exciting model compared to all the other models except maybe the macan and cayenne. Interestingly here in europe you could get a 4.0 litre V8 diesel Panamera with 422 hp and 850 nm of torque. People have remapped to over 500hp.

@@CarswithMiles I am pretty convinced that it's Porsche's wheelhouse, they like corner dynamics and overall robustness. They don't really concern themselves with straight line speed, tho they can do that. They are not (mostly out of experience) in the HP game, they don't really care if that number is the highest unless they have to. They have a car that looks good is mostly as a matter of those dynamics and little else, but, to quote Ferry Porsche, "We have the only car that can go from an East African safari to Le Mans then to the theatre and then to the streets of New York." He was saying that about, of course, the 911... That said, it describes what the company has been after in every single thing that they make since it's creation 76 years ago. The signature image of a Porsche is how it attacks a corner at full chat, or at Le Mans. Sure, that is a bit boring but boring works.

My friend has the exact car, the car is amazing, but the motor is absolute crap. The 4.4 to 60 is only with a porsche launch, it doesnt feel quick at all punching it on the highway. More importantly, the v6 sounds terrible. Highly recommend you shell out for a v8 model.

I have loved these since they first came out, which has been a tough position to have since they were pretty ugly. Fortunatly, these last few generations of the panamera have made they drool worthy. Especially the wagon which they have unfortunately killed off.

Powertrain has been improved, but car, overall, besides the new suspension which is pretty awkward, is way worst. Interior, full of black piano feels way worst ala Taycan. Alluminum is gone, digital screen shouts price reduction and man… no ST version? Are we serious. No way this car is better than its predecessor.
