My brother made banana pudding for every family function we had I don't know why it was so good, but it was amazing. He didn't put it in anything fancy, just a regular stainless-steel bowl he made the pudding in. We sure do miss his banana pudding. My granddaughter tried making it, but it didn't taste the same. RIP my beloved baba.

The "secrets" to my quick made banna pudding is that I use a one to three ratio of white chocolate instant pudding and banana. The next thing is in the layering of the crushed cookie, cookie crumb, whole cookie, sliced banana and whipped cream. 😅 I'm sure you're brothers was better but maybe this could help. The other way is the scratch way.

Anybody remember the real banana pudding with southern grandma over a double boiler for an hour cooking the pudding then popping it in the stove with homemade meringue? The aroma of the pudding cooking into the vanilla wafers, then literally melting into your mouth. Nothing compares. If you know, you know.

I used to make the whip cream fresh early on I recommend putting your stainless steel bowl in freezer 10-15min before helps Jumpstart the whipping process

@christinef7739 In the day we made everything from scratch, including whip cream. My ex and I grew up having a dessert after dinner. So I made a lot of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, pastries, ice cream, etc. when I was married to him. That was a different time and life.

@christinef7739 I still put the stainless steel bowl and beaters in the fridge. I do that with my biscuits, too, for 20-45 minutes, they stay in the fridge until ready to be baked. They come out really fluffy.

This reminds me of the Paula Deen, not your mama's banana pudding... It's a huge hit when I make it. However, adding the caramel glaze is a wonderful idea. The only thing different she does about her pudding is add cream cheese to the sweetened condensed milk and combine the milk and pudding mix separately, then combine those four ingredients along with the Cool whip. I love cream cheese too much to not add it. So glad I found this recipe cuz that caramel sauce is going to make it even better.

So… I actually made this and It was amazing! Wish I could post the pictures! Since I made It for me and my family I Just doubled the recipe and everyone loved It! My hubby especially!. It was my first time making caramel but you made It look so easy and It came out great! Only thing Is that I let It get to dark so It tasted KINDA burnt but not to bad.. Great video. I'll have to try this one. Two things for those that may not know, ONE: make your whip cream in a cold bowl. If you have room, put the bowl in the freezer until you're ready to make it. TWO: it may not look it, but cooking sugar is very dangerous, NEVER LEAVE THE STOVE UNATTENDED.

I like to make banana pudding in wide mason jars with lids. I can then put the lids on and refridge until time to serve and then add more whipped topping, crumbs, bananas and chocolate and caramel drizzle. I’ll need to start making my own caramel now. 🥰❤ I’ll start adding whipped cream to my pudding now also. YUM.

I use Lorna Doone cookies in mine rather that vanilla wafers, the buttery flavor is sublime. I also use a half a stick of cream cheese to each box of pudding... makes it a little less sweet and the texture is almost like a custard.

I know you wanted to say "Semi Homemade Banana Pudding" Very much still a great recipe. when I was growing up I learned to use the NIlla wafers, but as I got older I switched to the Chessmen cookies only. YUM.

I've been making banana pudding for over 15 yrs with chessmen cookies....very similar to what you made but only using the chessmen cookies. No nilla wafers and no carmel...lol never seen anyone do it like mine. Im now convinced YOU CAN COOK😂😂.

Your banana pudding is similar to my version. I use more Chessman Cookies than vanilla wafers. Overall your recipe looks delicious. When you ever have an opportunity please substitute Nutter Butter Cookies instead of vanilla wafers or Chessman Cookies. Assuming you like peanut butter. This is a flavor explosion 💥. Also you can use Vanilla wafers or Chessman with the Nutter Butter cookies.
