I make mine the same way, except I use brown sugar and use linguini instead of spaghetti. Serve with a nice crusty sourdough french bread. Delicious!!!!!!! 👍

Wow, your sauce looks delicious! I used to cook the same way, but since I don't eat beef, I would use minced lamb/mutton, and use flat-leaf parsley, thyme and Bay leaf. Sometimes I would used minced chicken; I would then use a large bunch of basil instead of the other herbs. My Italian housemates from Bologna and Tuscany taught me that it was essential to use finely diced carrot, celery and onion for the vegetable component (aka "soffritto", when you cook these in olive oil over low heat) as this combination gives incredible flavour. They also taught me to use a little pomegranate molasses instead of wine, but including a little milk is important for getting the meat to be more tender. My friends also said that the best tomatoes to use are the ones that have been left out overnight to warm up and really develop their sweetness, and also become much easier to crush by hand. This also means that there's no need to add sugar during cooking. I have never gone wrong with their tips! Perfect pasta sauce, every time! 😀

Cook pasta till al dente, then add the pasta to the sauce and allow it to absorb the remaining water. Save one cup of pasta water and add it to the pasta to keep it moist.

Yes. You should add the pasta to the sauce as is shown on the splash page. Pouring the sauce onto cooked (but dry) pasta is no bueno.

You could either reduce it prior to pouring in the Tomatoes and deglaze the pan with it. Try adding 1-1.5 Tablespoons to an equal amount of water and deglaze until it has almost completely evaporated! Or add it into the water and make it 3Cups of liquid. Either method would work

@@easystreetwithjen personally I prefer my sauce totally savoury and would not add either to the mix. However if you’ve got concentrated Balsamic (sounds great) I would actually de glaze it with an inexpensive red wine. Then if you desire a sweeter sauce, add some sugar, starting with 1/2 Tsp. Save the reduced glaze for better stuff! 😋

Since this is similar to ragu style may I suggest adding carrots and mushrooms and adding the juice of dried mushrooms (with the dried mushrooms of course) for added flavor. A splash of wine would elevate the taste even more but then it won’t be halal. But for those who are not Muslim add the wine and let it evaporate before you add the tomato sauce. It will do wonders to an already great recipe.

Kick it up a notch. 1/2 cup of a dry red wine like a Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon right before adding the water. Serve with a crusty Italian bread or French baguette for dipping.

In Italy we don't just sling sauce on pasta like that. We put the pasta in with the sauce and stir it around on a low hat or 2-3 minutes. It makes a massive difference.

Anche noi condiamo la pasta con gli avanzi dello spezzatino, ma fatto come dio comanda ! non sono d'accordo sul fatto che saltare la pasta in padella dopo averla condita faccia la differenza, la differenza la fa la qualità degli ingredienti e la semplicità della ricetta. Sono Bolognese ma detesto le tagliatelle al ragù! Una amatriciana o una carbonara sono impagabili ! Ha ha ha poi io da un Arabo posso imparare solo come si fa a risparmiare!

@@mars2981 Why can't it be without onion? Who said "onion and no mushrooms"? What control does that person have over my kitchen? When they can take control of my allergies and make me not allergic to onion, THEN they can tell me what I can and can't put in my food. The whole reason I said I would be leaving out the onions is because I'm allergic; even a tiny bit will cause my throat to swell closed and I cannot breathe. The reason I said I will use mushrooms and extra garlic is to give back some of the texture and flavor I will be losing by leaving out the onions. I'm not going to prepare a recipe in a way that will literally kill me just to keep someone online from getting butthurt. You're not even the person who made/posted the video, so what gives you the right to say how I can and can't prepare my food? Go find someone else control because you have no say so in my life.

I make my spaghetti sauce almost the same way but I add rosemary and use beef stock rather than just water. A splash of Worcestershire sauce (pronounced wuss-ter-sher) also gives a nice piquancy.

10 minutes for spaghetti it's a crime. Pasta must be al dente. 10 minutes means overcooking the pasta. Beside, never put sauce on the pasta in the plate but take pasta a couple of minutes before is cooked. This means After 6 or seven minutes and finish cooking in the sauce to mix flavours and stelle and make the sauce one with pasta. After this, use a dish.

That´s bascially what is outside Italy called "Spaghetti Bolognese". Though often ground pork or a ground pork and beef mixture would be used. The German (and all the other northern barbarians) in me don´t see any problem here. My inner Italian however started to cry with the canned crushed tomatoes and the wrong type of noodles (and many many more things). I personally prefer either Ragu alla Bolognese with Tagliatelle or Haschee with egg noodles.

@@ronin47-ThorstenFrank and that's another point. Bolognese means nothing, it's ragù. You can Cook ragù bolognese style or neapolitan style. Ironically, The second one use meat cut in a similar way to this recipe, but bolognese style is pretty diverse.

I cook mine all the way. My teeth can’t stand hard noodles. And yes I put the spaghetti leftovers in the fridge. ( Italians do not believe think it’s a crime to put pasta in the fridge- they are governed by rules)

@@sciencelabvideosl7558 And why not? It´s your kitchen and you can do what you want - actually, at least as far as I know,, Italians are much more flexible in this regard. Especially with cooking noodles longer for people with the same issues like you mentioned. We always must differentiate IMO - it´s pretty ok if you say it´s not the intended(!) and original way.

Three tips for you next time u make it. 1. always mix sauce with ur pasta and use pasta water. 2. Barilla not the best brand anymore u can even see the color is not white that means they dry it too fast. u want ur pasta to be white and rough, u can tell by using ur fingernails. U want this for the starch and also for the sauce to stick better. 3. use a de glace like red wine in this case after the tomato puree. other than that its looks good. 😀
