New drinking game: a shot each time Dan says “no nonsense”, down a beer each time Dan says “protected by the keel”….

“No nonsense” is code for “this boat is basic as all shit and they haven’t changed it since the late 80s”
@bobjuniel86835 күн бұрын
I found this really confusing. How many litres of fuel does the boat hold? How far can it travel at 6 knots, 8 knots, 10 knots, 12 knots, 14 knots 16 knots 18 knots, and 20 knots per hour, and so on up to full speed? I am used to kilometres per litre at a given speed in kilometres per hour. Most boat channels start with revolutions per minute, then speed attained at those revolutions. How many nautical miles does a boat travel at one knot? Then I can understand 7 knots per minute? Per hour? Will travel a certain distance. Shouldn't we be thinking nautical miles per litre, just as we think miles per UK gallon, US gallon or easier kilometres per litre? Maybe I drifted and missed when you stated the all important fuel tank capacity of the Scimitar 1010, and the top speed in various sea states. Weather and sea states dramatically affect cruising range. I have heard some experienced boat people suggest that one should always have fuel and water tanks half full when returning to refuel and resupply. Running out of fuel in the middle of an ocean is not a good idea.

I would believe it, I've driven a few of them. Please do the 1770 if possible.

Anywhere close to a mill for this rig is outrageous. Love the look and cockpit though. Love to see what she does w double the horsepower.

Half a mill UK for that fuel burn though. Aquaholic had an interview with an old Princess owner who'd just SeaTag'd the thing up. He drove a few miles down the coast for the day and it cost him 8,000 AUD in diesel for the day so he sold the boat.

Looks like a great boat for Keys & Bahamas... shallow draft.. simple design.

Now do a full walk through and fuel burn on the 1770- cos that’s a boat I would be interested in - the 1010 is lovely but too small for live aboard and too large to store unless you have waterfront property of your own Sorry I forgot my manners - please do the 1770 next - thank you and love your channel

7 knots something at 1800 now 2800 rpm 6.2 knots? Did I miss something or did you mix up the consumption and knots?

I heard that too he meant 16.2 knots. Later on 9:05 he's doing 15knots at 2700 rpm.

@BoatLife_DansBoatLife12 күн бұрын
Depends on which country. For example NZ doesn't have a licence system for boats yet so you just go boating and don't be silly. UK on the other hand likes to babysit everyone a lot more so it really depends on where you are. But in general a standard boating licence covering this length should be fine.
