Girl you don't have no problems. You only have a small slope, slope land is the best, once you have a competent contractor. How you think we in the British Virgin Islands build, we have hills, we got to cut into those hills to build our homes. When you done build and you see the view you have, you will love it, besides, if it is raining really hard, your land will run off the water, while the flat lands will hold the water.....cheer up, you didn't buy bad land. Also, why were we just looking at the ground, and why didn't you give us a drone view of your land and the view it will have?

Facts. Rwanda is another example of a country with excellent environmentally conscious and sustainable architecture and engineering, Johnston Bigwi is one of their top architects and has a youtube page where he shows different builds that follow the natural contours and topography of the land. Ghanaians will famously say “it cannot be done” because of a fixed mindset and limited adaptability. Hence get second, third and fourth opinions.

Sis please get a second and third opinion and speak to a structural engineer that has some environmental and sustainability expertise. Having riverine property is a God send if you build respecting the natural contours of the land and leveraging them. Unfortunately most Ghanaian architects and structural engineers have zero to limited environmental engineering experience and their solution is level and flat land with zero sustainable design incorporated. Me and my husband own property along the River Volta and when the catastrophic dam spillage happened last year we were one of few properties that had minimal damage because we refused to change the natural topography of the land and its contours hence the flood waters followed the natural channels and pathways and did not rise quickly hence less destructive. It appears your land slopes towards the river……..follow Mother Nature’s guidance and get a more competent engineer to advise how to maximize the beauty and ambiance of the stream and avoid a flooding or water logged hazard for the build and property. Absolutely doable.

See. Thats what I am trying to find. It’s really difficult to find one. And I can not build on a water log. The future of my home will eventually have issues. This wall thing is not cheap. I will have to revert and get myself some outside options

Please google Space Accra, an up and coming architectural firm in Ghana. They will have some good ideas……speak to Charles the founder and lead architect. He understands eco design and sustainability

WOW! That person is sooo evil. He/She must forget buying land in Ghana is for anyone who has the money and an honest person who is selling the land. Citizens will get land too if they have the $$$ to buy plus they get 99 years lease whereas non citizen gets 45 or 49 years. Stop being messy please!
