You won't believe who wins! Ford Raptor vs. F-150 Hybrid | 0-60, Horsepower, Off-Roading & More

The Ford Raptor and Ford F-150 Hybrid are the latest trucks to face off in our series of dirty drag racing in the desert. In this video, Ryan ZumMallen from Edmunds is back at the dry lake bed in the desert to see which Ford truck comes out on top in this drag race in the dirt. The Raptor had a tough time keeping up with the Ram TRX in our last drag race, so we're eager to see how it holds up against the F-150 with the PowerBoost hybrid powertrain. Which Ford truck has the better 0-60 time? Can the hybrid Ford F-150 beat the Raptor in a straight-up drag race? It's another down and dirty day in the desert in our video of the Ford Raptor vs. F-150 Hybrid desert drag race.

I have a 22 raptor and I always edge our powerboost in the quarter I only have the 35 package and not a fully loaded raptor maybe the little weight savings is enough to just barely edge out a powerboost. But if u want a super fast truck get a XL powerboost work truck none the weight of carpet and speakers and luxury amenities they are absolutely unbelievably fast. A XL work truck with a power boost is all us Raptor owners worst nightmare

Loving my '22 Lariat 502A Powerboost. 8.5L/100 km (27.6 US mpg) on a 200 km trip with the cruise set at 95 Km/h (60 mph)......... 41 of those kms were electric. Best of both worlds, you can either hyper mile it or drive it like you stole it. Really enjoying the power on board for our RV camping too.

I just got the same truck you have. Haven't gotten that high of mileage. But once I hit 3k miles...fuel economy went up. But im having too much fun with the power 😂. Best so far is 22.4 mpg lol.

The Powerboost is a great truck and seems to be the smart choice, faster than a Raptor, better range than a Lightning and it can tow more than both.

great point. It's a better choice than a lightning for driving long distances, that's for sure. I can't imagine taking vacation 10 hours away and stopping to charge

I’m a bit surprised that you guys were surprised by the results. The fact that the Raptor has 37” tires gives it virtually no chance of winning against the powerboost. The powerboost may still beat a Raptor with the 35” tires, but would be a closer, more fair race.

EXACTLY. Someone who understands rotational mass! And not only that but the Powerboost truck was lighter by like 200 lbs. This was a no-brainer for the PB to win. It's a Raptor, not a TRX.

The raptor also has 4.10 gears doesn’t it? The tires are heavier but it’s geared for those tires.

As a powerboost owner this makes me happy. Yeah yeah, the raptor has bigger tires, it also has a gear ratio to go with those tires. I can’t even imagine what a raptor R or trx feels like because when you step on it in the powerboost it’s a little shocking feeling that in a heavy ass pickup.

The raptors look cool, in the end I chose and love my 22 powerboost though. I got mine for all around use, I do not offroad much but its nice that it can, same with towing while still getting great fuel mileage.

@@TristenHernandez I don’t think they do. They should consider it though, could be a great asset to have that generator available when off-roasting From welding an off-road vehicle that is broken to powering a remote campsite for the night.

Check out the Livernois tune for the Hybrid. These things are making almost 400 hp and 600 foot pounds of torque at the tire stock. With the tune, the horsepower gets close to 500 hp and 700 foot pounds of torque at the tire. Nuts.

I think with the 35's on the raptor it would be alot closer...that being said, the electric motor in the powerboost pretty much eliminates the turbo lag. My powerboost feels alot heavier than my old 2017 ecoboost, but the electric motor just fills in all the lag gaps and provides instant boost without even spooling the turbos ide say 50% of the time at lower/moderate accelerations, hopefully prolonging the turbos life in the long run

On the hybrid switching to sport will cause the battery to charge up, so you'll have more reserve electric power when you need it. I own a 22 powerboost. Can confirm its fast. Chipped too. I don't need no stinking warranty!

Watched video from first upload 😅...Hybrid clear winner tho... HP pretty much the same, Hybrid has more torque and more torque down low and it's lighter with smaller tires... I still love both...

Stock for stock, it's not surprising. My Powerboost isn't stock, I'm Livernois Motorsports tuned...but I easily beat stock Raptor R's and stock TRX's. My best track times so far is 12.07 @ 114.10mph. And I still get 30 to 37mpgs on the highway..

I have the 5.5 bed, stripped down xl s crew. I had a buddy hand time my 0-60 3 times and he came away with 5.6, 5.2, and 5.4. I’m guessing I’m in the 5.5 range realistically. Less weight=better times. Just installed fox 2.0 leveling kit, and I’ll be tuning and adding a bigger intercooler in a couple months, hoping to drop down to mid/low 4’s before I put my offroad tires on. Would be cool to run sub 5 with offroad wheels.

Not sure why people think the Raptor is faster than a normal truck. The raptor has a little more hp, but is taller, has bigger tires, which basically kill performance. So there is no surprise who wins. Now if the raptor had 200 more hp, things would be different.

There was some BIIIG PROBLEMS with that raptor. Or tyres or mostly some HUGE WEIGHT added, or some problems with engine/transmission. Looks like it had no more than 400bhp if is beaten hard by a even HEAVYER and low power f150. Torque have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with winning those races on that surface AT THAT SPEED which f150 pass the raptor. Drop that BULLSHIT about torque.. if torque would win dragraces, there will be only DIESELS.. which is NOT our reality (the only diesels which race are the ones who REVS pretty high -my own modified one revs 6000)
