Funny I was getting on to comment about the time lapse but not in such a rude was as one of the previous comments. I for one think sometimes too much is skipped for the sake of making a shorter video. If people don’t want to watch that long of a video they can fast forward. No I don’t want to see every single bolt loosened Or tightened but I like watching how you solve problems or diagnose wiring problems etc. I find it educational. Good job though Clint really enjoy your content.

Hey guys, love the channel. I just wanted to pass on a safety warning that my company has distributed to us service technicians. We were told that diesel exhaust soot contains Chromium 6 and it’s a carcinogenic. Please take the proper precautions when working with the exhaust system. All of your fans want to see you make video’s for a long time. Have a nice day!
@64TommyG Жыл бұрын
As for the exhaust gases, there was an American research a few years ago that proved that uncleaned exhaust gases from old-fashioned diesel were significantly less harmful than the cleanest new engines! Which is because the modern "cleaner" exhaust emits particles so small that the body cannot defend itself against them even passing through the cell walls! Not that it will be better that they now release CO2 in addition! In the past, the particles were so big that they bound all the impurities and fell to the ground quite quickly and in the countryside was nutrition and people coughed up the shit, it wasn't useful for that but in comparison it was less serious! Strange people who are afraid of things that can be seen while it is the microscopic that cannot be seen that is the more dangerous - like for example Covid and other even worse types of viruses compared to a tiger...

the gaskets were the wrong way around, making the manifold less stabile , also you should consider some heat resistant exhaust paint whenever you install a new manifold the joys of a maschinist are 8x welded broken studs and even better are broken taps and thread gauges

I’m not an equipment operator or mechanic, so I’m always amazed at how much these machines hold in fluids. Seems like everything needed for these machines is measured in gallons not quarts like with regular vehicles lol😄 Spend a small fortune in just servicing them at regular intervals. And the number of filters they each have….crazy how expensive it can become

I am continually amazed how the engineers designed these “older” machines to make them so hard to get to every thing. Like that oil drain. I am quite aware that this is much worse now on newer equipment. I worked with engineers all my career and I think all of them should start work first in the shop doing maintenance.

The old ate away exhaust studs are something every mechanic likes to see early in the morning. That the good lord for a torch, collet style stud pullers, stem style and knipex pliers, and of course the welder, pieces of sheet copper (a trick I use is I drill a hole in a piece of flap sheet copper just under the size of broken off fastener and clamp/bolt or otherwise hold it in place [if holding it by hand wear hot work gloves) and then weld my washer and nut in place. Weld doesn’t stick to copper and beside reducing the number of mig balls to scrap off or on the back of the exhaust valve [I personally have not done it but I have seen it happen so I thought I would mention it] it also help with not selling what you don’t want to have welded if you know what I mean. A buddy of mine works at a Mercedes’ dealership in New Jersey and he said they have so many idiots coming up and taking selfies with cars on the lot they have posted the lot with signs that say No Selfies Allowed because idiots are accidentally scratching/damaging cars taking them. He said on the front line of cars they have a signs if you take a selfie with our car we take a selfie our car with you and to make sure people know they are getting their picture taken they trip a flash every time their selfie cams take a picture. PS The paint job Bud ops I mean Kevin laid down on that dozer is looks pretty damn sweet looking. The 64 dollar question is how long and how many sheets of sand paper did it take to prep that dozer for paint? All I know is paint equipment other than the Richie Brother value enhancement way takes a lot of sanding by Manuel (I mean Kevin). I am serious jealous of your plasm table when it comes to making special tools I’m stuck using a drill, gas axe, file and die grinder (However one of those hand held 1” belts sanders has reduced the time with the file a good bit.
