YouBrew vs. Grind Control Pro

I've had the Grind Control for almost a year now. I have to say it's the best coffee machine I've ever owned! It provides the quality and the control over your brew every time. So many good features from this machine. I do recommend a daily cleaning, or as I do, I give it a good quick clean after each use. The stainless steal dispenser ring for the ground coffee shoot can get build up on it, and it it's not cleaned routinely I've seen comments from others that it can get dried coffee on it. I think most of people problems is not having a routine cleaning of their machines. I've yet to have a single problem and use it everyday 2 or 3 times a day. Great machine!!!

I got my YouBrew in Dec 2012...! It still works but with the same problems it did from day one EVEN after a warranty replacement. I still like it but this new model addresses most of my issues with the old model. BUT, the biggest issue was not covered on this review; inconsistency in the amount of water used on single cup mode. I almost got rid of several times because of this. I am going to give this one a try. Thanks Seattle Coffee Gear !

The only verifiable complaint I had with the you brew is how difficult it can be to keep clean. Also, I suspect the brewing temp to not be idea although I can’t verify I recently switched to a mochamaster and sette 270w and the taste improvement is night and day.

I'm always skeptical about how clean you can keep drip brewing machines. So many little tubes and whatnot that can accumulate bacteria...

Adam Iannazzone Cleaning with vinegar regularly should help that I would think.

Looks like a great machine. What would be a good set up for a house divided, (I like espresso, he likes brewed coffee) for under $1000?

Does he like americanos? An espresso machine might do the trick for both of you.

Logan Krupa he doesn't love Americanos. I wish he did, that would make things cheaper.

That does make things a bit trickier. What about the Bonavita Metropolitan Coffee Maker (reg $100, on sale for $90 at the moment) for him, the Crossland Coffee CC1 V 2.0 Espresso Machine ($700) for espresso and the Breville Smart Grinder Pro ($200). That keeps things at about $1000 with a nice balance between cost and quality.

Half pound of beans doesn't sound like much. How many pots of coffee does half a pound make? Also, is it still more than 18 inches tall, meaning it won't fit on the counter under the wall cabinets that are typically 18 inches above the base cabinets?

I was expecting you to talk about this Units function individually, how to set it up the timers for coffee in the next mornings also if some how the power gone how to set it up the Clock ⏰ and others orders in that screen. I need to learn from video how these buttons are working , not enough describing a bout it.

The grinder on the new model is so much quieter. Also the new model has auto shut off.
