Sorry if this is a bad question, but are you able to still pick off at first with the slide step if your front knee does not pass the rubber when you wind up? I’m a LEFTY btw thank you 🙏

I am about to go into my first year of high school, and had to purchase a new bat. I bought a composite/composite Louisville Slugger Omaha, and the salesman told me that the more I swung with the bat, the better the bat would be. However, I am curious how much is enough to get it into game shape and what is too much? Thanks!
