Started to use and this is indisputable the best backpack ever! Durability, quality and the comfort is unique!

One of the best bags I have ever had. Crazy expensive but I got lucky and found a guy selling a new one for $75.00. I couldn’t believe the deal I got. Great backpack, great organization, built to last and the 24L doesn’t feel big at all. Great for EDC.

Your reviews are very helpful not just for the bags you review, but also what to keep in mind while buying any bags. Even though buying these backpacks are off limits at the moment, am waiting for the day I own one of the bags you've reviewed =) Thank you Bo!

I am moderately satisfied with mine. I actually find the water bottle compartment useful, I hated opening the whole pack to get to my bottle in the 18l version. I’ve been a fan of VX material for long time. My chief complaint would be the liner material of the shoulder straps and back panel. Mine have frayed substantially, I do often have patches on my uniform and wear a minimal duty belt, so that doesn’t help. The material is also really slick, so if you need bend over, the pack has a habit of shooting past your shoulders. The pack has the organization I need, and doesn’t raise any eyebrows when conducting ops overseas or at airports, a huge plus. Fantastic for urban recce.

Great review. I have their Axis Expedition Duffel and it's made from very similar material. They showed a video of them dragging the duffel behind a truck over a diet and gravel road as a torture test and it was fine afterwards. I guess my shoulders are used to my GR1, but I can attest to have any two strap harness is going to dig in unlike the Hill People Gear bags with harness that distributed a heavy load over your shoulders. I like the camera quality. It looked like the exposure was brighter than normal, but I didn't mind it. Maybe that's me though.

cool review!! bought the GR1 after your video way back when. Still use it for every job and the only downside is that I can‘t really justify ever buying another bag of this type again... years of photo/movie grip abuse and many travel miles and it‘s still bulletproof. Thanks for the recommendation man!

Great review, Bo! I own both GR1 21L (which is old GR0) and Axiom 24 Gen 2. I like them both. GR1 is for outdoor, A24 is a daily EDC backpack. I listened to cons you mentioned in the video and I don't have any issues (5'9") carrying it on the back. Also I do love bottle compartment mounted inside the backpack as I don't want to have external pockets but I carry a water bottle sometimes. Double laptop compartment - TAD site designed the pack (according to the video they have) to use ONE laptop compartment and the second one will be used for documents, all-in-all we can put a second laptop to the main compartment. I like bottom part - sometimes I miss an opportunity to put the bad on the chair/ground .. but that bottom is designed to make a backpack thinner when it's not fully loaded.

That was a great review! I have been using the version 1 for awhile now it has been pretty comfortable so far. I have been rotating between this (axiom 24 multicam) and the Vanquest 25 Addax (multicam) for my daily commute to work. While they are around the same capacity, the vanquest is able to hold much more stuff. Maybe you can consider that as your next bag to review? :D I have been following your channel for some time and I feel this bag (vanquest) might be something you'll enjoy using!

I love this bag and have used it for extended one bag travel, but two things drive me nuts: 1. How quickly and easily all of the Hypalon material gets so dirty and 2. The way the load lifters flop around. I've put some web dominators on them but it still annoys me. Aside from those two nitpicks, this bag is excellent and I can pack it for a month in a warm climate with room to spare. Anything else and I switch to my GR2 34L. Great review!

Thank you for the review. I just bought one and found the shoulder straps and back rest still bit hard on my shoulders and back. Maybe it may shape to my body after some time to "run-in", hopefully.

The bag feels like its screaming for casual use for bulk cargo carry. And I agree with you, this material doesn't feel like its made to keep the bags structure in place. Its like the human body, its bloats when you eat too much ;) The problem with such type of material on the backpack is that when you over load it, the weight goes to your back and hip instead of staying on your shoulder as the bag doesn't really have that structural rigidity to carry / distribute weight properly. Maybe I am completely wrong but the way it looks in the video, its just my opinion about the bag. About the little-big camera, it looks sharper and a little brighter(!?). Some B-roll shots felt like the camera was too heavy or too sensitive that it had to move or go off balance a bit. 8:44 Was it just me or the buzzer sound was louder than usual?

I enjoy GoRuck equipment. I own a majority of their catalog. However I do believe Triple Aught Design has better organizational schema if you have a lot of stuff.

Really glad you reviewed this. It has always been one of those bags that I feel that, as a bit of a bag nerd, I should own at least once in my life. But I never pulled the trigger and seeing your review glad I didn't. I don't think it would quite work for me. In regards to the video I did notice a difference with the new camera. Definitely seems sharper.

I owned it. Thought it was super comfy. It wasn’t my favorite though, so I did sell it. Biggest issue was that the bottle pockets weren’t really useful.
@MrJed_s4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't they be useful for bottles? Or are they too small or something?

Hi Bo! Great review once again! I was wondering though, does a dslr fit in the main compartment? I cannot get a clear view on the main compartment depth. This is crucial for someone used to commute with a dslr (lens attached). For instance, my gr1 21l barely fits it.

I noticed before you even mentioned that it was shot on the BMCC4k that something looked both different and better! Since I always find your videos have a great consistency in color and lighting I naturally just thought, oh, Bo have gotten a gear upgrade! But I would say that it fits your workflow go with the BMCC4K! It looked great! I thought it had a bit more cinematic look to it. I dunno if that has more to do with the sensor, the glass, your color work or a combo?

TAD makes some cool gear but dear lord do they make it impossible to actually buy anything from them. In the five years I've known about the company some products have only been restocked once or twice and many accessories appear to never be returning. I've pretty much given up on TAD for this reason.

It looks good but too many pockets. I like the simplicity of the Goruck better.
@gonefishingapodaca4 жыл бұрын
This bag was a major miss for me. The load lifters would crimp at the top when fully engaged, the “water bottle “ pockets were a joke, better suited for small quick access items. The Laptop compartment was very cramped and bulged into my back if anything was stuffed in there. The zipper pulls and Hypalon material frays like crazy after just a little bit of use. In the first gen of this bag, the organization pockets were useless, couldn’t fit a phone or field notes notebook, looks like they fixed that. Overall I felt this bag was very gimmicky and fits less items than my 21L GoRuck Gr1. Such a high price tag for this bag not to be perfect.
