I'd be more concerned about going deaf from multiple guns going off indoors. But yeah, doubt it was as common an occurrence as movies make it.

I'd also question how willing they were to waste bullets since they were needed to protect against animals as well as people. I don't imagine even then they were cheap enough to warrant just firing off rounds needlessly. If they had to ride to another town to get them, that would be an additional deterrent.

This scene is slightly different from the movie scene. It's longer and Sharon Stone stands up instead of staying seated when she fires her gun. And the kid isn't in some versions of this scene.

Romeo + Juliet was so cringey, it almost made me cry. Dropped it after 20min! Total eclipse was thought-provoking, but flawed. The Great Gatsby was a snooze-fest(couldn't finish that either)! Don't look up had its moments and the satire was on point mostly, but definitely not awesome. I agree for the rest!
