@@jordanflores5687 with all due respect fam I disagree with your analogy whoever is guarding you got that work period that's like saying when Jordan averaged 43 vs the Suns that he gave it to Charles Barkley when in reality Ainge, Marjerle and Dumas were the ones guarding him smh

He said himself this was the year that special because he was able to add a consistent 3 to go with his athleticism which was at his peak. Stated that his game was finally complete. Years after it was just tuning the skill set

Kobe should have been MVP in 2003 - carrying teams with little talent to the playoffs while putting up insane numbers. Shame he's gone.

This was 02 -03. I agree he should have had more MVPS .is thus the year Shaq was out 4 like 20 games??

Love Kobe. My all-time favorite athlete ever in any sport. But objectively, the MVP in 2003 was Tim Duncan. Who went on to lead the Spurs to their 2nd championship in 4 years. Defeating this 3x in a row championship Laker squad in 6, in route to the title. Duncan deserved it in 03. 06 I think you have far more of a case.

On February 6, 2003, Kobe Bryant delivered a remarkable performance against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, scoring 46 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 114-109 victory. Bryant's stat line for the game was impressive: Points: 46 Field Goals Made/Attempted: 17/27 Field Goal Percentage: 63.0% Three-Point Field Goals Made/Attempted: 4/4 Three-Point Percentage: 100% Free Throws Made/Attempted: 8/11 Free Throw Percentage: 72.7% Rebounds: 6 Assists: 3 Steals: 2 Blocks: 1 Turnovers: 6 Personal Fouls: 4 This game was part of a historic scoring streak for Bryant during the 2002-2003 NBA season, where he recorded nine consecutive games with 40 or more points, a feat only surpassed by Wilt Chamberlain. The victory improved the Lakers' record to 24-23, marking a significant turnaround as they fought to secure a playoff spot in the competitive Western Conference.
