Parents shouldn’t blame their young children for having problems. A parent’s job is to offer support and guidance to help navigate their child through the difficult years of childhood. Pointing fingers at the child and saying he’s not “normal “ only adds to the problem.

Anyone who has watched Nanny 911 or SuperNanny knows that child behavioral issues are 99% of the time due to the parents who fail to properly engage with and exercise control over their children. It's a sad situation for parents to deal with, but failure to fully deal with a situation early allows it to become worse as the child grows older. Resistance is futile!
@byhislove
@byhislove 5 ай бұрын
also many parents do not spend quality time with their children, they spend time gaming, on the phone, doing busy work, working, running errands. The children need quality time, to be listened to, validated...the behavior is to attract attention they will get it one way or another. At 3, kiddos do not understand that putting milk in the fish bowl will kill the fish, they are curious. anyways...

A lot of damage has been done by devout parents who think their religion is the answer to any problems their child has - no matter how serious. My sister’s first husband developed schizophrenia shortly after they were married. His parents refused to believe it and just said he needed to pray harder. Thankfully, when he turned violent, it was towards himself and not my sister.

Yeah, the stuff the kid did at 3 wasn't really that worrisome, I don't think. And he was clearly raised in a house with high religiosity. His dad at least clearly has mental problems of his own. Children raised in homes with high religiosity are more likely to end up becoming criminals later in life, with the more extreme cases resulting in crimes against children.

Good point, and to add further, a good lesson to people out there is...don't cheat. You never know what anyone is capable of, but you can be sure that the response won't be positive. If you aren't happy in your relationship, navigate a clean break first. It still might not go well, but it's the the best course of action. Lying, deceiving, sneaking around and triangulating is 100% likely to result in a bad outcome, and possibly a harmful or fatal one. Be safe out there, y'all.

Boiling a fish to death at 3 years old? After killing one with milk? That seems pretty extreme to me. The milk was probably not that unusual but after learning it killed a fish he then thought up another way, an arguably more torturous one, to kill another fish? Again, at the age of three. To have that level of malice and intelligence working together was definitely a sign of what was to come in the future without proper intervention. Possibly even with it given that the persistent violence was a characteristic he displayed at such a young age, before video games or peer influences or any "outside" influences were involved. I think it's miraculous he made it to the age he did before killing someone. His family should be thankful they were spared.

Dr Grande, please do a video about the murder of Russian opposition leader Navalniy, who was murdered in prison this week. This is massive news as it comes during Russian elections and a successful Ukrainian destruction on a large Russian battleship. Might this have been a revenge-murder? Certainly an expected tactic used by Putin, as described by Guriev in his book "Spin Dictators". PS: 1 year ago, you reviewed President Putin. Today, this man caused Navalny's end. It would be poetic justice to discuss life and mission and end of Navalny.

I am also not surprised that Borg has assimilated well in prison. I bet that there was no futile resistance upon him getting there. Good joke Dr. Grande.

Can't say Tyler was a "good seed"... but I can't say I feel a lot of sympathy for Justin or Tyler's shitty wife. Tyler's dad isn't about to win Father of the Year either. What a toxic mess. Not surprising that the outcome was disastrous.

Very timely. I watched an episode of law and order yesterday about a psychopathic boy . His behavior escalated similarly to Tyler. His parents did not want to face the truth but eventually they agreed to commit him to a facility. It seems they committed Tyler a couple times and he seemed to get better but many many psychopaths appear charmingly normal like the long island architect that no one suspected of being a serial killer. I think his wife's behavior released all that pent up malevolence and by then it had been building so long that Tyler no longer cared about consequences. It's interesting. Never heard of people with the actual name Both. I thought the star trek writers made it up. Life imitates art or vice versa. The star trek borg were a race of psychopaths who prided themselves on lack of emotion, empathy-human traits they disdained. They killed or assimilated others with a ruthless efficiency. As far as Tyler getting religion in prison. I highly doubt it. I'm betting it's a survival tactic in prison-another act. Tyler is right where he belongs. Locked tightly away from society. He'd kill again in a heartbeat.

I don't think the parents should've asked their medical doctor for behavior advice for their child. They should've asked a child counselor or therapist.

Dumping milk in the fish tank and messing with the thermometer sounds like normal child behavior. A kid isn't going to know that's going to hurt the fish, parents need to explain that to them.

I find it very interesting that Tyler would attack Justin. Tyler’s wife’s behavior would have been the same, regardless of the male interest. If marriage didn’t stop her with Justin, she would have continued to select outside partners, so I find it extremely ignorant for Tyler to murder the man she selected instead of murdering her, the unfaithful wife. His anger was entirely misdirected. She was clearly the one at fault.
