Young Men Of Nepal With One Gurkha Dream | Forces TV

Selecting recruits to become Gurkhas is one of the most rigorous recruitment processes in the world. Each year thousands of young men in Nepal apply to join the Brigade of Gurkhas. In August and September they go through regional selection, and by the end of the year the final 400 are called into camp in Pokhara. There are only 126 places available this year - the lowest number in a decade, and it's down to the recruiting teams to make sure they select the best.

I still remember my chest no. Company B-220. Even though i didn;t make it, Those 4 years gave me so much of knowledge that i will cherish for my life time. For those friends who won;t make it, Cry ur heart out and wipe your tears and be a GORKHALI in Civil life.You have a life ahead of you. A real gurkha never gives up my freinds. I have been to Nepal where I met retired Gurkhas and would-be recruits for the British army and they are wonderful people whom I am proud to have known. I am surprised that the U.K. doesn't vastly increase their intake of such fine young men

At least they are doing something more positive then been in a gang.At least they are getting enough money to support themself and family, because not every part of this world has money. We fight other because something is wrong. But in this world, nothing is ever right. There's always that boundary of balance. Not everyone will agree to it. This is life, this is a man's world. But really the whole idea of life is to be happy. Most importantly, be able to eat.

I thought the Gurkha PJFT would've been harder than that... The Royal Marine fitness test is 2.4km in 12:00, 1:00 rest, 2.4km in less than 10:00. Personally, I did mine on an RMAD so we had to do pretty much 3 miles at first, minute rest, then 2.4km in less than 10:00. Haaaard! So much respect for the Gurkhas though! They define loyalty!

what is a coward really? someone who runs because he know's the odd are against him or someone who just run because he doesn't want to die. In truth no one wants to die. A coward is just a coward, but you can always teach a coward to be tuff. " better to die knowing u did something, then nothing"
