I was diagnosed last summer with PD and I think I was a little bit in denial thinking I can beat it with exercise or at least keep it at bay. I just recently started experiencing some balance issues and it was like a slap in the face that it's coming no matter what. When I turn my head quickly, I get dizzy for a brief moment. Good luck to you sir you're doing a great service to people dealing with this disease.

Hi Brett, sorry to say but welcome to the club. Glad you found this channel. Yes, the symptoms do come, and you will learn in your own way to deal with them. Do you have a prescription for medication?
@bozerbrett7867 Жыл бұрын
No prescriptions for medication yet, I see my MDS in March and I will discuss meds with him.

Lots of good info here! I'm glad to see you expanding your horizons on exercise related things to do. I've been in a slump on being active, but I'm turning things around now. I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can get back out of the house and do things outdoors. Best wishes!

Hi Michele. Definitely getting out of the house would help. At our strata complex yesterday afternoon there was a social that I went to for the first time. Took 10-15 mins for the anxiety to go away, but it was fun anyhow. Is there a winter shoot you can do?

Medical coverage is about to end for us, leaving a bill of around a thousand to pay every 3 months on levodopa alone...

At what point did you have to give up driving? My husband was diagnosed less than a year ago. He’s 52. He still works full time (behind a computer screen) and drives himself around. He currently drives a manual and I can tell it’s getting a bit more uncomfortable for him. I’m handicapped and I don’t work, but I can go back to work in an office style sit down job, which I will be looking into soon. I haven’t worked in almost 20 years only because we agreed that I would be a stay at home mom and homemaker. Life is throwing us is hard ball lately.

Hi Lynn. Basically I gave up driving when I knew I was becoming a danger to others and to myself. My take on it is that we are responsible for our decisions. It could be compared to drinking and driving in a way. When you pick up keys you are responsible for what happens next. I can see that driving a manual would become extremely difficult over time, as I used to drive some from time to time at my last job. I understand the what you mean about the hard balls life is throwing at you. I do. Thanks for your questions. If you have anymore let me know. Here is my video about giving up driving.😀😁😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJOloomAlJp0gMU

Hi David, you mentioned it took a couple of years for your symptoms to get progressively worse. Have your symptoms halted? Did you have FOG right away? Thanks,
@LifewithParkinsons Жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony. I think I'm at the point now where the advance has slowed a bit, just because of all the things I have piled on against it. But to realize how far the symptoms have advanced, I will give you an example. About a month or two ago, I forgot to take my 1pm dose, which turned out to be a bad situation. I went from my 10am dose to my 4pm dose. By the time I realized what had happened, it was too late. I could barely move and I did not know where I was. It took 1-2 hrs to come out of it. I am no doctor, but I don't think the disease stops progressing, I think we just have to find things to stay head.(my own opinion). The off time FOG started a couple years ago to get bad. I was diagnosed 2017 so it took a bit. Thanks for the questions. 😀😁😊

Thanks for the information. What is your schedule like for taking meds? I know you have had PD a lot longer than me. Currently I am taking 4 Rytary every 5 hours and 3 pramipexole every 5 hours. Was your beginning cycle similar?

@@Anthony99355 Here is my medication list and times, minus the movapo which was discontinued. Will update in the near future as there are some small changes. I started on just levodopa/carbidopa kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp7XkICZrMSWprs
