Aoa, I am a Canadian citizen of Pakistani descent and I finished high school here in Canada. I cannot currently afford to go to a Caribbean medical school. As a result, I am thinking about going to medical school in Pakistan and transferring from there to a Caribbean medical school (in year 2 or 3 of their MD program) after completing 2 or 3 years of the MBBS program they offer in Pakistan. I know in 2 years I will become eligible to apply for the loan I would need to attend a Caribbean medical school. It is the only way I can see how to 1) start my medical education asap without having to wait another two years 2) gain US clinical experience. I say this because I have discovered from multiple sources that US clinical experience is absolutely necessary if one wants to have a real chance at landing a residency position in the US. What are your thoughts about this plan of action? Thank you so much!
