In one episode Dale hardly knew who Georgie was because Meemaw didn't tell him about him, but he knew all about Sheldon without even having met him because she told him a lot about him. If I had to choose who was his least favorite, it would be Georgie.

Actually, I kinda understand her. Women are/were often expected to stop working in order to raise the kid, and despite all the energy it demands, they can't make money out of it. So saving money "just in case" is very much understandable. More women than you think do or did this in case their husbands leaves or becomes violent so they can survive without them... some abusive men uses the "you don't have a job, you have no money" lines to prevent their wives running away from them.

When it comes to that its a smack in the face and it's unfair, when your married its "what mine is yours and what's yours is mine" its a our money senerio. I've seen this happen in real life and every time I was like "wtf is that B.S.?" Now what you said is valid and anyone should have some money on the side if their in that situation. Assuming that the Young Sheldon "timeline" doesn't eventually diverge from the TBBT timeline, it's possible the reason George Jr. never paid his father is because George Sr. was already dead. George Jr. turned 19 in 1994, the same year that George Sr. dies.

I notice it is always Mary who leaves the house when she and George have a tiff. Perhaps that is why she is so adamant about not moving when George got a better job offer in another town. She wouldn't have her mommy to run to. At this point in the series, Mary hadn't started working so the money she had hidden away wasn't really "her" money but rather family money. The amount needed for a computer back then would have gone a long way towards paying family bills.

1:55 HUGE writing error. This conversation should be completely flipped. As it is, it creates quite a big inconsistency in both characters. Missy, being the more emotionally intelligent child, should be able to catch onto the subtext of the situation as she's been proven to be practically gifted at exactly that.
