If its any help I sat for two hours completely wrapped up in this movie.I am very critical(comes with age maybe)but this just took me on a wonderful ride...one of the best of the decade for me.

I loved this film! For me American Flyers is a personal favourite. I saw it in the eighties and I was really into cycling at the time so it really resonated with me!

Not sure who produce this movie - but Ride like a Girl is a true and fun sports family movie. Also Coda is another feel good movie that won an Oscar over all the Drama dark movies

The movie exaggerated some of the obstacles, or even made them up. Also, ignored her real coach and credited it to Charlotte Epstein. But, still it was a good, and enjoyable movie. The achievement itself is amazing and inspiring, and she deserves to be more known. A trivia fact: Another woman managed to swim the channel only 20 days after her in just over 50minutes. And she was a mother to boot!

Not a big fan of sports movies (or Ridley, eh), but a few come to mind: Cool Runnings, for sure, although that's more of a comedy; first couple that always come to mind: Without Limits and American Flyers.

@@spandel100 Not for Star Wars she wasn't! Not blaming her for what DEIsney has done to my favourite childhood (and adult) franchise, but she was definitely a large part of the problem. I guess any other female lead would have been no better in the end, but she took the job, so here we are, at the Acoshyte end of the galaxy, more's the pity...

The hyperbolic misogyny became somewhat tedious but otherwise it was enjoyable. It's unfortunate that the career dreams of female swimmers are still being crushed by misogyny albeit in a new and sinister form.

Looked interesting until I saw that it was Disney. Disney has no credibility and I do not expect an accurate telling of history. I'm sure she swam it in world record time with enough energy left over to make her girlfriend a five-star vegan supper.
