Good conversation. I read somewhere that in the 18th century a British general while fighting in the Deccan was defeated by the local army consequently his nose was chopped off as sign of defeat now he was confronted with the problem how would he show his face to the authorities. Meanwhile one of his local soldiers suggested him about the treatment of his mutilated nose by a barber/nai, he followed suit and to his surprise the local nai fixed his nose and embalmed the wound by some herbs. My intention to narrate the above story is India had the knowledge of surgery (and plastic surgery)since ancient times and various jobs were assigned to seemingly common people though they were experts in their arts.
