Alcohol and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I started drinking alcohol since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting Cigarettes and alcohol addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.

I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them.

@@I.Love.Porros I was in the same position as you, not an alcoholic but drank way too much at parties for example, always ended up with me doing something stupid or embarrassing. Unfortunately I burnt some bridges that way and came to the realization that I should quit drinking. I have now been sober 6 months, I still go out but I drink non-alcoholic beverages instead. It has honestly been really relieving not having to drink and better yet, not facing a hangover the day after. I don’t like to preach about my personal feelings or choices but I do think it’s worth quitting for a month or two if you feel things are getting out of hand. If you do not feel an improvement in your life at least abstinence is an exercise in self control.

The most drunk I’ve ever been was when I was 15. I stole a whole bottle of Rum from my parents liquor cabinet and started drinking one day when I was home alone. After about 5 shots I had to start drinking OJ with it because it tastes horrible. I took so many shots because I wanted to feel drunk, but it never occurred to me that it would take time for it to happen. So after about 10 shots or so I started to feel a little woozy and fuzzy so I stopped drinking, hid the bottle, and masked the smell of everything and got everything back to normal before I got too wild. About 15 minutes later I was hammered. Good thing I had started a voice recording on my phone before I went out of it so now I have a few hours of complete none sense on voice recording. The hard drunk ness lasted about 8 hours. I slept for about 3 of those hours. Then my parents came home and the whole family went out to eat. By then i wasn’t nearly as drunk, but I had bad hiccups and was still a little fuzzy in the head. So when we went out I was still saying a few weird things and laughing a little bit excessively. But I didn’t get caught, and the rest of that bottle of alcohol is still hidden in my room today, 6 years later

This is actually so interesting. I've long wondered how a simple drink and do so much to you. Really, being the right level of drunk is the BEST. There's actually more to alcohol than just GABA. When levels are rising, alcohol triggers endorphin release which dulls pain and in turn causes dopamine release, resulting in excitation and reward seeking. In addition, it inhibits NDMA, which is primarily what makes you dizzy/eventually pass out.
@TheCtenoMan007
@TheCtenoMan007 8 жыл бұрын
+DeformedBear It's unlikely to because it's a very short-lasting. Mostly it can help cause binge drinking.
@TheCtenoMan007
@TheCtenoMan007 8 жыл бұрын
+DeformedBear More likely to start binge drinking once they've had one or two, since it is self rewarding to have more if you get an endorphin release. That being said, different people get different endorphin releases (based on genetics) and somebody who has a really good time binge drinking could binge more. It's notable that even a sip of alcohol can actually cause an endorphin release and it's not totally related to quantity. It's mostly related to how fast alcohol is rising. The release stops once alcohol levels plateau or drop. The effect isn't particularly related to chronic alcoholism (keeping alcohol in your system all the time), as alcoholism is primarily related to mental health (anxiety in particular) and where the GABA effects of alcohol acts the brain. Certain people essentially have a "deeper" penetration of GABA effects in the brain that cause a deeper relaxation effect and is more addictive as an anti-anxiety crutch. Sorry if that was too complicated. tl;dr level of alcohol endorphin release is related to binge drinking, alcohol GABA effect is related to constant alcoholism.
@TetraSamurai
@TetraSamurai 6 жыл бұрын
Boomerang Guy the dizziness from alcohol comes from its effect on the inner ear, not from nmda antagonism. It’s effect on making you pass out is from the increase in GABA. All GABA-enhancing drugs do this, which is why they are called tranquilizers such as barbs and benzos. Also, if I’d attribute anything to the pain dulling effect, id say it is from the nmda antagonism causing a state of dissociation.

I stopped drinking at twenty-years-old when I realised that I physically couldn't control the things came out of my mouth after a few drinks. Like, I wouldn't be traditionally drunk; I could think clearly, I knew exactly what was going on around me, but I'd lose the barrier that divided the things that were okay to say and the things that weren't. For example: every year around christmas time we'd have this party at my aunt's. This particular year my younger cousin had invited her new boyfriend. He was quite a shy kid. He'd barely spoken to anyone all night until eventually he started engaging in small talk with my mother. (Thinking about it, my cousin had probably told him that her aunt (my mother) was lovely, and so she was the only person in my insane family that he felt comfortable speaking with.) I thought nothing of it until I heard him mention that he wanted to dance with her, or something along those lines. As soon as those words left his mouth I was ready to kill him. In my head he was either ridiculing her, or flirting with her whilst sat next to me in order to provoke me. "Who the fuck does he think he is?" I patted him on the shoulder, stared him blankly in the eye and said in the most aggressive way possible: "that's my actual fucking mother, you know?" Luckily, he laughed it off in desperation hoping that it was some kind of joke that he'd missed. I smiled to reassure him that that was the case, as the second I'd said it and witnessed his reaction, I understood how out of order I'd been. I was terrified that alcohol had caused that moment of skewed vision and absolute loss of control. I'm the least confrontational person in the world. I go out of my way to avoid confrontations, yet there I was ready to tear this lad's head off for what was probably nothing. He could have been a cunt, but there's no way I could have known for sure from just that one thing he'd said. I'm still embarrassed about it now, a year later. Haven't drank since.

Hahaha. That's a pretty funny story. I stopped drinking to get drunk last year. I ended up getting plastered and bashing in my little brothers door open. the door trim was realky damaged. I figured that i can live a life without getting drunk after that.

The funny thing with me and alcohol is I just love the world and people so much more while on it. I have a fairly dark outlook on life typically while sober, so maybe alcohol makes me think less about that and more about the simplicity of life. And does so with more clarity. Solid video, much appreciated.

@Rhobyn
@Rhobyn 10 жыл бұрын
Your body tends to deal with alcohol (basically a toxin used to kill other lifeforms) first. Theoretically your "high" may last longer. However, the more factors are in play, the less you can predict the outcome. Let's just say that a friend of a friend of mine knows that you think less clearly about nothing. ;)

Yea, that pothead seems to see the effects of alcohol as all bad. Hell, he didn't even say that alcohol makes you more sociable (is part of inhibition) and about how the effects on you feel with alcohol depends on your current mental state. ... It's a shame his series doesn't cover the rest of the body, because consumption of alcohol in moderation does great things... And the type of alcohollic beverage drunk is also a factor.
@Jarfiller

Setha My point is is that when pot smokers say "It is not addictive" or "It is not a gateway at all" are wrong. It is usually only a gateway though when you smoke it with shady people who do more heavy drugs. The gateway is usually the people you smoke it with, not the drug its self. But when people say "It is not addictive" seem to be wrong.

How does alcohol damage your liver?
@iownu12345
@iownu12345 10 жыл бұрын
Real bad man.
@Rhobyn
@Rhobyn 10 жыл бұрын
It basically is a toxin. One of your livers jobs is to filter toxins and break them down for digestion. Obviously this is a very stressful job, which is why the liver has relatively extreme recovery properties (you can basically cut out half of it and it will grow back). However, excessive amounts and/or over long periods of time are too much for the liver. Simply imagine hurting your skin. Rubbing it does little to nothing. Rubbing it consistently nonstop causes injury and it can't heal. Also causing a wound and causing the same wound on the same spot before it completely healed will accumulate the damage. At one point it can never heal 100% ever again. (Scars on your skin look cool. Scars on your internal organs are bad news.) The same principle basically applies to all organs. But because the liver deals with toxins, it's a strong indicator for substance abuse. So drink responsibly. If you learn how to pay attention to your body and you will learn when and how much of fun you can handle. :)

First, saying bright people drink a lot doesn't have any correlation with retards. As Kevin said it, lots of people drink a lot. Statistically speaking bright people then to gather around a cultural hotspot and share their intellect (creating groups - a common human practice... find someone that is similar to you and hang with them). Based on my experience, I have seen lots of bright people ingesting huge quantities of alcohol.
