Your dog training certification means nothing to your client

Seeing more and more trainers “certified” from dog training schools charging people for board and trains then providing a one hour go home lesson. Your board and train is useless without proper amount of private sessions to make the client the best handler possible enabling the training you did with the dog to continue

Larry I volunteered at shelters for 8 years before I became certified. I only did it on the advice of my Mentor. Watching her maintain the care of 40 hounds by herself was the most impressive sight I have ever seen. I didn't chose a world class trainer and, she chose me and YES it changed my life by impowering me. I do NOT like doing B & T because the dog bonds with me and not the owner. You speak the TRUTH 👏👏

It should be common sense that training the dog but not training the human is never going to work in the long run. BUT it is very convenient and much easier for the trainer. More important truth from Mr Krohn!

Good morning Larry. Wondering if you could recommend someone in Upstate NY for a dog-male-young maybe 1-1 1/2 years young that is now having trouble with men-(aggressive maybe) my nephews dog. He had asked me and I did come across some places that thought they were Didn’t agree with them and just seemed to take my money and not work with my dog! I have allways trained my labs but nothing like what you do! Love your videos and your knowledge and appreciate everything you show and say also! Don’t hold anything back! That’s great! I ran onto a dog newbie dog trainer who was bragging that he was a certified dog trainer. I told him im also certified, but it doesn't mean anything. It was just a fancy piece of paper.

Well said Larry.. In the end it's growing the skill level of the customer that really matters. I tell my customers all the time. The dog is a product of two things. His genetics and his environment. You are the dogs environment. I don't live with you. In the end, I may have helped form the dogs behaviors with an in board training program, but in the end you have to keep them up. I may be able to, with my skill level. To get the dog to stand on his head, but your longevity and success. in the end is all about your skill levels, not mine.. I am here to help guide you in growing your relationship with your animal and educate you.. The dog is not a robot they respect every individual in the pack differently. Work hard to grow your skills and your relationship with your dog. I'm here to help you do that, but in the end it's your skill level that will make all the difference, and give you the value with my services..

I sent a dog to board and train for one purpose. To see if he could accept people other than me. After a week he started to accept those people. I was able to adopt him out to a wonderful older couple and he has been fine. But, these people never have anyone over and they spent five sessions with me getting to know him. Board and train could not fix his aggression to strange people, I did not expect that. It was an experiment to save his life. I needed a lot of people to interact with him. Just a post.

So your dog has behavior issues which are 99% to do with the human/dog relationship. So you go to a trainer for help who advises you to let him take your dog away from you for a month. How is that going to improve your relationship with your dog?
