Really interesting looking addition. So many of us have to adjust the direction of the Elgato during intense games just to be able to control the lighting on our faces to something manageable. Love the comparison section of your review which shows this wouldnt be needed with this product.

I think modular options for elgato products are a great idea. Even in there newest teleprompter they have double hotshoe mounts and swappable plates. I'd love to see elgato be more accepting of more ideas like this in the same way the 3d printing community has been with the elgato stream deck accessories.

I actually asked Julian (Elgato GM) about it a while ago.. and they aren't currently working on anything BUT they are open to these ideas in the future.. I specifically asked about a "softbox".. they said probably not that but other keylight accessories to control spill etc like these grids is doable

I like the idea that with something such as lighting there's so much versatility in terms of additions that as a film maker / photographer we know we can have. And something like the keylight can ALWAYS have more added to it for a more tailored taste as what is out the box might not suit your personal needs. Fingers crossed they do have a look into this in the future for sure. Cause with the addition of the grid and even the idea of gels, that then takes a piece of hardware you only bought for streaming to be used in something more professional in terms of production like a red hair light behind you in a head talking video.

Yeah, ordered 2 for my Airs in the beginning of April and I'm still waiting for them to ship but I talked with the owner and he says that the main reason for the wait time are his suppliers being slow on deliveries and often sending the wrong stuff.

I came across this dudes work when I was trying to mock up a grid and was shocked at how clean and elegant their solution was but at the time I wasn't able to have it shipped state side. I love seeing innovators winning! If Elgato/Corsair end up making their own version we must demand they attribute the reason being Cut n' Etch! 🤗

Thanks so much for the kind comments. I want to add I did wait 2-3 months for my order to arrive. The company is a single man operation and he has to print and make each grid for the order. When it arrives I hope it does what it does for you what it did for me

I would be very tempted to buy one for my 'Elgato Key Light Air', but the price from 'cut 'n etch' is expensive! I've no doubt it's a great product, but at over £60 that feels like too much of an investment. It feels like the same could be accomplished with something cheaper. Are there any other alternative choices, which are a lot more budget-friendly?

Sadly I've not found anything as an alternative choice. A little part of me has played about with the idea of something you could print off on card and make your own at home. Cause overall the shape / build is pretty achievable on a DIY scale.

That's unfortunate, I emailed them directly when there was a delay in my order. It took about 2 months for it to get here. Near the end of last year when the video came out they had been in the process of moving their workshop. Sorry I don't know any more.

Go for it! It's a very simple solution in the end. I know this is all done via laser cutting and the wood they resource. For me though I don't have the space or resources for doing so. If you shared the print files with the community I can guarantee you'd be a very popular man!

Great video. Looks like a great product but in my opinion way over priced. Especially considering you can get the Aputure Amaran P60x 60W Output Bi-Color Lensed LED Panel Video Light 5070+ lux, CRI 95+, TLCI 97+, Color Temperature 3200K~6500K, APP Control & 4 Built-in Lighting FX, Softbox, Carring Case all for $169 lol. Whole other level.

Yup definitely great for video creation. Wouldn't knock a professional lighting rig for video content only and not streaming. I use a 60w andeor LED with a softbox mount for KZbin videos. However with Elgatos ecosystem and being able build automation for different lighting scenarios based on notifications, scenes, donations, subscriptions, game states while strwming. Along side say, Govee lights. It can't be beaten.

I think my order was roughly 4 months in total till it arrived. Sadly as it's a sole person running and printing it all off when it gets busy he gets a massive backlog. That's my understanding.

Its 97.46eu for me, so about 66% of the cost of the keylight itself! I don't think that's reasonable pricing, but I guess there are not many options. I just found this and ordered a couple (someone on reddit mentioned it fits the keylight), google "nanliteus fabric grid for lumipad 25"
