Thx again Steve. I usually start with belt cracking which is similar to the throws being shown. Turning your foot w/ a little fa king at the end is the cat’s meow. That for waking sleeping giant.

@genebacha Belt cracking is good stuff! A lot of people forget about turning the foot. Good post, Sleeping Giant, lol.

The basics are the building blocks of any art no matter the complexity and imo contained in the exercises trained. Your earlier lesson on chaining opens up to what your teacher, GM Chicoine said. Something I noticed is people forget to change/ chain stances in the exercises like the reach up and pull down or chain other methods/exercises. One can also see exercises are modified from art to art to accomodate the style of techniques used for that style, but keeping the essence. Like how the baduan jin changes from shuai jiao to chow gar or even different temples of shao lin or how the same happens with the muscle change exercises. Basically "teach the principle not the art" but adjusted to "learn the principle not the art". Learn by practice, thinking, chaining. People may not realize how much info is in these videos but I've found gold! Haven't had my coffee yet so I maybe just rambling lol

@gharm9129 Great comment! The basics, the fundamentals, the foundation to everything. A fundamentally sound baseball team will always beat a team that has a few superstars. Learn the principles, not the art. I love that because this way, the mind and body stay open to flow freely. Too many people, though, are stuck in their arts, things HAVE to be this way. Free your mind, and the rest will follow. Lol, I better get back to sleep. Great comment once again!

Can you do movements pulling your opponent into you to immobilize or take to the ground.
@TheIronandSilkАй бұрын
@draperw86 I wish. Lol. I don't have a partner to demonstrate. Is this what you're referring to? Or, are you referring to this type of practice?
@draperw86Ай бұрын
@@TheIronandSilk yes I am referring to you grabbing someone or even a training dummie and then a finger jab or elbow something along the lines of that. Thanks for getting back to me!
