Your Money or Your Life: Nine Steps to Transforming Your Relationship with Money

Most thinking about money assumes your financial life is separate from the rest of your life, but it is time to put those things back together. We need to account for earning, spending, debt and savings, but also count the time these functions take in your life. A positive relationship with money is reflected in the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment you get from your work, and how it connects you with family, community and planet. Regardless of whether you are in debt or whether you have substantial savings, you can embark on a work/life path where you make a life, and not merely a living.

This book had a huge impact on my life. It shifted how I viewed trading my time for money and how I began to demand more value for value went I spent money. It inspired me to start saving and investing. My favorite, most memorable part of the book is "the crossover point". It opened my eyes to what was possible. I bought the book in the mid 90s and now less than 25 years later, I am financially independent at the age of 55.

Consumer Spending accounts for roughly 70 percent of U.S. economic growth -- that amount has increased considerably, from 59.5 percent of the economy in 1969 to 68.1 percent of GDP in the third quarter of 2019, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Speaker was correct that countries and states can be used interchangeably. Clear example is Israel. Its often called the state of Israel. Israel is also a country. Many other examples. He was splitting hairs.

How can you go to work if you're not paid? Who's paying you the gas money to get to work? So I don't know how people expect to drive to work If They'Re Not Getting Some. Type of gas money to get there and if you're working from home, somebody better be paying your electric bill to be able to go on the internet and somebody better be paying your internet bill as well.

maybe start asking what is life. money is a storage of monetary energy. in gold we trust, in fiat currencies we lost, in bitcoin we'll blast !! Also, you can make more per hour. passive income even. she seems to be bound to x/hour.

Well, she just said "I'm not talking about poverty, I'm talking about most normal people." Does she have any idea how many of us that leaves out? Because, you know, if you're living in poverty it must be because you're lazy and/or stupid. Great. No help or answers for some of us on how to get out of the trap we're in. We don't HAVE discretionary spending money. So I guess your 9 steps are just like every other "program" that's supposed to help. It helps people who already have money - big surprise.

I disagree. There is a cost to consumerism, whether it be to you as a person or to the planet. Mindless consumption comes at a significant cost to our life energy and the environment. More is not better.
