Got myself the *_MiniWare_** ES15* after already owning a *_Sequre_** ES126* and I'm loving it especially for use with *_GodHand_* 4mm sized HEX-Bit Drill Bits - Gave it a test with a 2.5mm Drill Bit in 3D Printed ASA-X Plastic and it went right through it thus indicating that even a 3mm one ( the largest size ) wouldn't have been a problem - Super pleased.
@HuntingHeresy2 жыл бұрын
How are you securing the drill bits in the ES15? I've been wanting to buy one of these for drilling holes in plastic and resin for magnetizing, but haven't known what to search for to find the right drill bits. Would I need a keyless chuck?

This is not a drill. You won't have great results if used this way.

@@notenoughtech That depends on what your concern is - The ES15 not having the torque to drive appropriately sized Drills into Plastic? No issues whatsoever in the few tests and actual uses I've had so far. Even driving a full sized 3mm Drill into 3D Printed ASA with or against the Layer Lines was a piece of cake for the ES15 but that is probably a worst case scenario for me as Its ideal case scenario is either drilling smaller holes to begin with ( 3mm is kinda big for scale Modelling ) or just reaming already established 3D printed holes to a final size like when I need an M2 hole I'll just be drilling a 1.8mm Hole and have the screw form its own thread. Drilling into Metal? Yeaaa... Definitely not the ferrous ones 😏

Miniware ES15 looks great. Nice features. I have a lot of favourite screw drivers. Some are better then others depending on the job at hand. Question, do you find yourself using ES15 all the time or just for jobs that have lots of screws? Most of my projects are limited to 10 screws at a time. For larger projects I use a Dremel power screwdriver. I’m worried that I’m going to spend $200 + Canada and end up not using it.

I work 90% with machine screws. At work I have a set of Allen keys and es15. Alien keys are for situations where I can't get the es15 in. For the most of day it sits in my back pocket waiting to be used. I believe it delivers best portability to power ratio. I have bigger electric screwdrivers available to me but they always need torque trimming otherwise they can strip the screw. They are bulkier and not as handy. It will all come down to how you use it. I adore these but I'm aware that some may have different needs. Even with 10nscrews at the time... Each time I use it. It brings a smile to my face. And for that reason it's worth it. Plus it's a great conversation starter :)

@@notenoughtech I very much wish I could do the same for your stuff. I bought the powergiant one, with the adjustable break clutch. It can act like a pseudo impact driver, where the break/slip action gives it that fraction of a moment to speed/torque up freely before catching. It's difficult to get a great grip on but it works while plugged in. The sound is like you said about the es121 having that dentist drill quality to it. So when I heard the sound of the es15, along with all of the features? Well... hell man, I couldn't really pass it up. The cheap one I bought works great, given how inexpensive it is. But with the plethora of headphone mods I do, along with the myriad of other things I work on at my actual job (chem tech, GC specifically). I really just wanted an "end game" mini e-driver. Thank you very much for this rather thorough video, especially from your unique perspective. One I personally feel is really what helps to sell it the best. I mean, if someone like you with the profession/hobby set you're in doesn't like it? Then I'd be damned if it would've been more useful for me than the el-cheapo I have now. I've got my pinecil iron, pine power desktop psu, a little helping hands station, two e-drivers, some manual ones. I dare say you've helped me really round out my kit for the various things I do. From the light duty to the truly most angerous and grueling of duties that I tend to see. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm blowing this out of proportion or anything of the like. I just appreciate good tools that are semi niche that can breach said niche to outperform the "original intended function." Heck, with the way you talked about how you can really customize it. You basically made it sound like the e-driver version of a pinecil soldering iron. (Truly amazing, if you haven't somehow heard about it already.) ~ahem~ Ok, I'm done gushing now, hahah. Thanks for humoring me and doing what you do. From one picky nerd lad, to another. I thank you, once more.
