Im so jealous of those using software version 4.0 and above. Im stuck on 3.7 on my 2024 Enyaq and the viewable vehicle/battery data is really minimal compared with the higher software versions. Great video, love all the info on temps and charge rates.

thanks. the only really major difference is the ability to pre heat the battery and that's hardware related not software related. I actually found 3.0 clearer to read when on the move as the icons were generally bigger

05:16 hello from a "frustrated" Oldtimer-Enyaq driver ;-) but only in winter times 😀11:34 but this isn't an indicator that faster charging works. So it means if you have 15 % SoC you can't charge faster if the battery temperature isn't warm enough. The last days i arrived at a Charging station with 7 % and only had 85 kW peak

Interesting to see the efficiency that you get on the motorway which I find I get something similar with my older Enyaq on 3.7, around 3.2 miles/kW with motorway driving from Cumbria/London/Cumbria. In Summer I have achieved 3.5 miles/kWh. I don't have battery pre-conditioning so tend to plan charging in winter arriving around 10 % to 20 % for a longer meal stop (lunch or dinner).

Great advice to new and potential EV drivers. I've had a VW ID4 77kwh for almost 2 years now. I don't have a heat pump, so excluding that on just about every question I would agree with you. I don't now use VW's We charge, as prices are no longer competitive. I favour Tesla for price, though using a V2/3 super charger can be a pain with the ID4, Electroverse favouring EV point and Ionity, on the odd occasions I need super fast charging. But the high price is vastly offset by 2.5p mile home charging, I drive in "B" mode as I learned to drive when you used engine braking, 😊 but with ACC the car life is easy. Pre-conditioning the cabin is an amazing advantage of an EV. Range and efficiency are a topic of conversation, but absolutely no anxiety.The Car's range is longer than mine.

looking at a used Enyak, how would I distinguish between a 1st generation and 2nd generation enyak?

@@larsmenken2679 2nd generation will be made November 2023 onwards and probably registered 2024 or very late 2023. The software on screen is different. Click the charging icon top right in screen and look for the optimise option. That's 2nd gen only

Now you say the motorway portion was more efficient on the way down. You also hadn't pre-conditioned the battery in that section or had you? Surely heating the battery takes some power or is it more that it stops cooling it?
@enyaq_gorm
@enyaq_gorm 17 күн бұрын
I didn't precondition other than for ten minutes before the Tesla charger, if it's done by the sat nav it is very efficient as it only uses just the amount of power needed to be at the right temp on arrival, whereas using the heating button is a blunt max preheat on/off

@@billmedland1797 Intelligent Octopus Go. Depends where you are though. In Scotland there is roughly 200% of the energy we need so it is easier to give us cut price rates than to pay the wind turbine owners to switch them off. So there's nearly always a surplus of electricity. If you're getting a car in July it might well be the facelifted one

Hello, How accessible do you think it would be for a wheelchair user to access charging points away from home? Things like is the charger raised off the road and how high up are the cables stored and card readers for payment etc. Thanks, Bruce.
@markleeming1786
@markleeming1786 18 күн бұрын
Hi ya, the access to charging points is usually good, plenty of space to the sides, however I feel your problem may be a charger that is raised up from the road, my observation it that it is mostly the older chargers that may be up on the pavement, the newer, larger sites seem to be level. The cables for the big high power chargers can be heavy to pull to the car charging port. Sorry not much help for you, but I feel that you should NOT have any problems accessing the chargers while in a wheel chair. I have used the Motability GO CHARGE card lately, not any cheaper, but it has charged the car, it says it will work with about 20 operators.

Hi, I am looking to change from an existing outlander phev 5HS to a enyaq but my issue is finding one that has the items I would like to have due to everything seeming to be an upgrade option at the time of purchase. I like the tan leather interiors, I would like to have HUD, parking cameras, adaptive cruise control, electric tailgate, lane assist, heated seats, Android Auto and I dare say many other things that would be nice to hace such as electric seats which are nice but not exactly essential. I have a budget of around 20K do you have any advice on how and where to best try to find a vehicle with the spec I want outside of autotrader, are any of those items standard on all vehicles? Are there any items you would consider to be a must have on the car in an order of importance. Finally I think, are any items that you know of that could be added to a used vehicle by the dealer? thinking of things that may just need a software update to turn on items that are already built into every car. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

HI. Only had my 2nd hand Enyaq for 7 months or so but for your budget you'll be pushed to find all that you want. Not sure what were extras to standard on my car, but I wanted the big battery model (and I love it) Mine has HUD, and I do like that and know it was an extra. I have electrically adjustable drivers seat, but not heated, but as the only driver it wasn't a requirement. Electric tailgate would be nice but for your budget that is a push I think. Think all Enyaqs work with android auto. Also leather seats is unlikely for your budget. All that said it's a terrific car and I wish yet all the best on your search.

@@glynmoore3730 Thanks for the info, am willing to up the budget for the right vehicle, I need to make a list of what I need, what I would like, and what I can do without. 🙂
@enyaq_gorm
@enyaq_gorm 17 күн бұрын
for that budget you're looking at a 2021 or 2022 car and back then you had a complete pick and mix approach so most items were configurable. More recently there are pre determined packs. Things like lane assist and android auto are standard. The tan interior is eco suite, if yiu go for that then you may find a lot of things were added on. I would say that travel assist is a must have if you do lots of long trips, it's the autopilot system basically. Heated seats are a must if you have leather seats in my view, and the HUD is really nice but not essential (I had it on my last car). Dealers will not add things on but on older (pre 2024 cars) there is a device called OBD eleven that can turn certain features on if the hardware is there.

@@enyaq_gorm Thank you for taking the time to reply, we do not do long journeys often, we obviously need to consider what we believe to be essential and what we can live without. Having owned 3 lexus in the past our major consideration has always been comfort and lack of road and engine noise. So far have not even seen inside an enyaq just been going by the reviews on youtube which all seem to be positive regarding interior quality. Certainly your videos have been helpful. We need to consider whether the changes over the years means it is better to go for a newer model with less spec or higher spec older model is stil considered to be a viable option. Thanks again.
