I got candy rocks once. Literal chocolates that looked exactly like rocks you'd find outside. Needless to say 6 year old me cried for an hour or so before my grandmother revealed that they were infact, candy.

My entire life I begged my parents for a toy kitchen. I did so much online shopping to find the perfect one that I knew I was going to get it. I even cleared a spot in my room where it would go. Christmas morning comes and there’s a box even taller than me with my name on it, what else would it be!? The only other thing I asked for was a dog... after getting a lot of help from my brothers I was able to move the behemoth of a present out from behind the tree and into a good position to unwrap it. tearing the paper apart and staring at the smooth cardboard before me, I read the words “go cart” and became extremely confused. My parents had gotten me a peddle go cart instead of a toy kitchen... for some reason We never use the go cart, the tire went flat two weeks after we got it and it was never repaired

My sister, however, has asked for spatulas as holiday gifts multiple times, because apparently there are different kinds of spatula? That's so sad... I can relate, when I was I believe 8, my hampster died of old age when I woke up. I couldn't stop thinking about her and it didn't help that it was a school day. WHen I was 6, my family had water frogs, I wasn't so attached to them but seeing them dead made me sad. And about a year ago, my cockatiel flew out of a window. It was so sad. I cried for hours to the point where my face hurt. She was starting to befriend me and even let me pet her. Losing a pet is so sad, when I think about her it makes me sad but at least I have another cockatiel currently. I am sorry for your loss. 😞

One day, per tradition, me ad my siblings woke up at like 6 am to go see the presents and gifts in their boxes (boxes and wrapping paper themselves are so underrated, honestly opening is the best part) to find..... nothing. After almost crying our parents revealed there were three gift cards in the tree, for IKEA. Needless to say we spent to day at IKEA. My mom and I love doing DIY crafts, so one Christmas we made charcoal soap for all my cousins. Charcoal is actually good for your skin, I mean- that's what mom said. Anyway, ya. We gave all my cousins "lumps of coal" and my youngest one started crying because she didn't realize it was soap. I actually felt kinda bad...(Also the soap was a secondary gift. Christmas would be a lot better if I knew that Santa was real. I mean, ever year my grandparents come over in the morning and even before they come, I have to wait in my parents bedroom for like an hour with my brother about burst open the gosh dang door to get the presents under the tree. I still don’t 100% know what happens outside of the bedroom but every time I ask if I can come out, the just say, “no. Not yet dear,” or, “in a minute.” (More like an hour) But I haven’t really gotten any gifts that are that weird but I have gotten multiple games that I just never played or gifts that were regifted on to me and/or I already had. The worst part is is that I always, ALWAYS have to be kind and respectful about what I get cause I even know that they came from the heart. (Not the persons actual heart but meaning that whoever gave me the gift really put a lot of thought and time into this) I have never really wrote down this much on my own about what I get as gifts for birthdays, holidays, or just because I was good, but, now that I think of it, I have a lot to say about gifts and I never think about it too much.

Wasn't from Santa, but we did one of those Secret Santa's in my 7th grade class. Soo, I made a list of what I wanted because nobody in my class knew wth I wanted. To put it shortly I just asked for plushies (Yes I was childish, and I still am) and money. I also asked for drawing supplies because I loved to draw a lot in 7th Grade. Anyway, my Secret Santa was this girl in my class. We'll call her Daisy. So Daisy didn't really know me, but that was fine by me. A couple of weeks later on the last day before Winter Break started we opened our gifts. I got a bag with a penguin on it, I opened the gift and I got something I could not believe. I GOT SOAP. SOAP. YES YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY, SOAP. And this wasn't a prank, Daisy doesn't like messing around with other students she doesn't do joke gifts. I was in shock. In my head I was laughing and crying. I could not believe what I got, it was just Soap from Bath And Body Works. That was it, just SOAP. I thanked Daisy for the gift and moved on. When I got home though, I wrote down every single emotion of what I was feeling in a journal. I can't find the journal now so that sucks but to put it shortly, I was sad, mad, and sort of dead. I just sat in my bed for the rest of the day thinking about what I just got. Now don't get me wrong, I was a nice kid it's just that I never expected to get soap. Looking back at it, I just laugh at my reaction and the gift. The year after that though I got a box filled with Dinosaur Shaped Cookies, so I was satisfied. And yeah, that was my story of the weirdest Secret Santa gift I ever got. Hope you enjoyed? XD
