I think it says a lot about the type of person Ray is that he recognized his inability to meet a commitment, and pulled the plug on a business model that very quickly was going full time for more than two guys. A great idea that is clearly wanted and needed. Maybe you both need to franchise that business model but make it regional or somehow limit how many folks you can help to an area where you can find expert help rather than try to do it all. Ray, thanks for your honesty. It shows in many ways!

So I went to my local Acura Dealership website to check on the Acura RLX models. The one closest to me shows that they only have 1 new 2020 in stock! The information you have on market data on an oversupply of the model, may be flawed or more related to certain areas of the country. Would be great to see your app and the zip code can be entered to drill down for more localized data.
@CarEdge4 жыл бұрын
Ron, 1 new RLX could be a 300 day supply of RLX's for that dealer based on how they have sold in the past. The more important number in this case is, how long has that car been in the dealer's inventory? Checking the month and date of production on the driver's door jamb may give you some insight into that. I hope that helps. Stay safe, Ray

This is supply and demand economics, focusing on the supply. If the supply is high relative to the demand, the price has to go down to sell them. If the supply is low relative to the demand, people will have to pay more to get what they want.

How would I have access to Days On Lot or MDS? Guess I'll have to wait for the App!! Those are not good cars, there is a reason that they stopped making them. If it has a Duratec V6 engine, they have a terrible design flaw with the water pump, Google it. Just walk into a dealership and express that you are a serious buyer, and keep trying to get up and leave. Keep saying you have to think about it, watch how hard they work to keep you from getting to the door. Also as always do homework regarding apr, trade value, etc...that should be obvious.

I noticed a lot of dealers in the midwest sell cars at MSRP (of if you're lucky, below MSRP) just to move these cars off their lot, unlike greedy-ass dealers here on the West Coast who have a ridiculous markup of 3k-15k. I think the big takeaway for me here is that buying a car from a dealership is so stressful that even a veteran of the business with insider knowledge and connections just didn't want to "deal" anymore and so they shut that business down. The old school dealership system is wretched and I can only hope that the Tesla sales model or something similar can eventually break the back of the lobbyists who fight to keep this system in place. I learned how to do this for myself a few years back on a consumer forum. Bought 3 cars this way, a 2015 Toyota, 2017 Honda, 2018 Mazda (the last helping a friend). If you are willing to put in the work of finding a list of dealers and emails and then monitoring the emails on the last week or so of a sales period. It was worth it for me. I would say I got better after the first car. It was less nerve-racking. Look for the cars forum at Clark Howard (a consumer radio and TV program in Atlanta). The guys there taught me this email buying method for new cars... They call it "the process." Hth.
