How I Found Belonging Growing Up As An Asian Adoptee in a White Rural State
"This talk empowers finding belonging. I share my personal history and provide statistics on international adoption. What it was like growing up, how I connected with my Asian culture and community, experiencing racism and my concern of growing up and losing my adopted parent's white buffer against it. I offer suggestions on ways other adoptees can find belonging and connection to their birth culture, and highlighting my success in searching for biological relatives with my finding and meeting my birth cousins."
