Herbert Lom is one of the most underrated and underappreciated actors of all time! Without him all the Pink Panther movies wouldn't have been half as good and funny!
@leehighland54353 жыл бұрын
Nonsense, sellers made the pink panther movies. While Lom was good and perfect with the role, it could have been played by others, but no one could replace Seller's.

I echo the praise of Herbert Lom, a gifted comedian who made his humor seem so effortless and genuine. His ensemble work with Peter Sellers brings me to laughter just thinking about the scenes in which they played off each other. Lom's twitchy eye is pure genius. May you both rest in peace even though you keep me in stitches.

And what is little known is that like Seller's Clouseau, Lom basically made up the characterization of Dreyfus himself. And while Sellers was a top comedic actor, Lom was the exact opposite. So for Lom to succeed so amazing well developing the Dreyfus character is a real tribute to his acting genius.

What makes it so funny is that he goes from standing there, about to meet someone, to laying in the bottom of a pool outside the building in the space of three seconds. It was so abrupt and unexpected. That is clever comedy. We don't get too much of that these days.

This was shortly after he died...Ted Wass plays a detective actually sent out to find Clouseau. "Inspector Clouseau" is a weird one that came out in 1968 which I don't consider part of the franchise and starred the great Alan Arkin in the detective's role. Aside from the Steve Martin "remakes," the only other Panther movie without Sellers is "Son of," which came out in I believe 1993.
@TemakiTom12 жыл бұрын
Sellers as Clouseau was in the original, "A Shot in the Dark," "Return of," "Strikes Again," "Revenge of," and (I guess, despite it being posthumous and made up of previous outtakes) "Trail of." But hey, I think they're all worth watching!

BLUE all over, when falling......A stunt man, or someone buggered up somewhere in production. ANYWAY, remember watching these, as a teenager. Mr. Herbert Lom, and his male secretary (glasses on here ) were very good, foundational actors, for Clouseau. Mr Sellers, very good actor as well.
