Faceless videos still work really great for me on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a little bit of fame ster, but that's a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial boost, and that caused them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.

For years, I just never started a channel because I never had an idea of what I wanted to do, but when Rings of Power came out. I made the plunge and met some great people who I do a live stream with every Saturday and I don't regret it one single bit. I also found out I am surprisingly very comfortable with giving commentary so that's how I found that inspiration. For those who still haven't taken the plunge: find something you're passionate about, and try everything. You can be a commentary change about anythingl without ever showing your face, but know you'll have to work extra hard to fill in those gaps in your video footage that would've been easy to cover with camera footage. I do it and it isn't hard, but it took constant trial and error to finally get it. Also, get good at writing good scripts, summarizing what you're commentating about so you don't drag a conversation too long that your audience will disengage. Again, that depends on your audience and what content you eventually acclimate them to. All in all, take the plunge.

The thing is, for channels that focus mainly on a niche like mine, I was afraid that people with a greater expertise than me would criticise what I do as I'm yet to know fully the depth of my topic (minecraft redstone). It is quite complex. It took me a while to overcome that but I do still have the fear of a bigger name redstoner calling me out for something I didn't know existed and could make things a lot better. Not just my niche, plenty of other niches face this fear but I say, if your passionate for your topic, say what you think is right because people can only judge you on what you know, and not what you dont.

You have a epic channel and its quite obvious that you put immense effort into every video, but as a shorts Minecraft creator who started only a month ago I CAN ASSURE YOU if you utilize shorts properly, with the amount of effort you put into your vids you would've easily surpassed 10k subs by now the only reason you arent getting tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands from shorts is because your shorts arent optimized for shorts viewers, the title and description follows more long form content formula than short form, and the video length is too long
@InfinityDargon3000

@@InfinityDargon3000 Thanks for the encouragement! You have a great point with shorts and I've seen a lot of people thrive off it (including you!) I actually have been thinking a lot about it now that you can 'clip' longer videos into shorter format ones which I thought I would start to do with my next few videos to see how it goes. But it's all about the transition from shorts to long form content and that, if you get a viral video will they all convert to loyal subscribers? Will they come back? Will they like the rest of the content on my channel? I hope youtube makes the transition even better in the future as shorts and long form content still seem separated but it's long form content that I'm the most experienced in! But I'll take you advice and I'll try to make shorts that 'entertain' more than act as a tutorial (which I've tried to do) and hopefully they will yield better results! It's good to see an outside viewers pov on these things so I get to know what I'm lacking, thanks again! Btw good luck with your channel too 👍 maybe I'll next check and you'll have your next milestone!

@@TheGoldenDragonmc Thank you so much, and don't worry about what the big creators think because I study about 25-50 big and small shorts creators and almost 100% of the time the content by the big and small creators are inspired by each other. The big boys never judge the small creators unless you are reamking the same videos as them, same camera angles, same thumbnails, etc. They will always always always support smaller creators PLUS the only way to get better is if you keeping make more content

@@PakLong_MY Unless you are in my niche or potentially want an animal for an avatar, I cannot. My current sprites were actually created by a fan. He actually made them for me as a surprise, I had no idea and didn't even ask for them! I cover My Little Pony and was originally using sprites from a fan made game called "Pony Town." It allows for insane levels of customization when creating your character, but you can't make a human avatar if that's what you want. If you want some sort of animal as your avatar however, you could potentially still use this site. It's not just limited to ponies, you can create deer, griffons, dogs, dragons, and several other things. The sprites are pixelated, but they still look _really_ good! It is also free to use.

Well, I´ve had an idea to start my own YT channel for more than 5 years. Somewhere around 2017 came to my mind idea to start YT channel for the first time but I almost absolutely didn´t know how to start because everything seemed too hard to do in just one person. So for some time I just had this wish to start a YT channel but without showing my face. And suddenly I found out that DIY and cooking videos have a huge success and wanted to start one of them. I thought that it should be easy to make this type of content, so I bought the necessary equipment like a camera, lights with softboxes, and different tools and started filming the first videos. Unluckily, I´ve never edited and released them because during the process of creation of these videos I found out that I needed much more equipment and tools than I expected. To make it clear, I had just basic equipment but in the process of filming I found out that it was not enough to make those cooking and DIY videos on a professional level and at least twice a week. So I quit because I felt so exhausted from constantly finding and buying appropriate accessories without them I couldn´t complete those videos as I wanted. I realized that this is not a niche I can make videos just by myself and slowly started thinking about a niche where the necessity of almost constantly finding appropriate specific equipment and tools wouldn´t restrain me from making videos on regular basis. At that time I was a freelancer in the field of online marketing and earned money I invested in different types of assets. I´ve already experienced several successes, so I realized that this would be a good topic on which I could make videos. So now I´m preparing a batch of the first 13 videos in this niche and somewhere about the start of December I´m going to post the first of them on this channel. Yeah, I have to appear in those videos personally but I realized that it will be the best way to make content on regular basis. The major thing I need for the creation of this type of content is my knowledge of investing and business, not specific food or equipment like those cooking and DIY videos required. :)

From experience I know there's tons of options for channels that don't have your face. I know, I'm talking from a 700+ channel, but my IRL work is narrating. I have done gameplay, review, cooking, tutorial, business presentation, educational, animation and so on. Plus I also work doing editing (narrating jobs are hard to get haha) and the same applies. I would say that besides some cooking, music and tourism channels, I never see the person's face.

This was really interesting! We're a faceless channel that covers movie stuff, but it really is harder to do stuff when you don't have a face, as people sometimes assume you have something to hide. But we went with it because our mother said don't show your face lol

Got 550 subs in 2 months with no cam! I streamed for a year or 2 on twitch. The camera factor always put me off a bit, so I never did it full time. Now I'm doing a random gaming niche on YT with no cam and am getting great results. But being able to have game footage I can talk through as I'm playing helps a ton as well. I Never thought of doing a lot of the things suggested here and will be trying some when I move away from full time gaming possibly in the future

I think the hardest thing for me to start a youtub channel is that i dont know what its gonna be named or what i am gonna do on it, and also i dont speak much english so i dont want to have a bad english if i start a english channel or if i am just gonna start a channel in my own languege

I use a camera to film my content (sometimes), but I don't usually use my face. Instead, I use a character I drew.

Just coming up with a niche. I find it hard to come up with content and support that content for years to come. I'm a retired SGT Major from the US Army. I have no problem being in front of a camera. When I played pool on a pro level I was on TV local in that area. Pool was more than a few decades ago. Ill think of something someday before I'm dead.

My own channel is a pretty good example of a gaming channel where I almost never show myself on camera. I find it incredibly distracting to play a game while I am being filmed directly so never normally do this and just do commentary instead

I don't show my face on my channel mainly because I want the focus to be on what im talking about and not me, on top of the fact I need to use still images and/or videos to get my point across. I'm not particularly a camera shy person but by the same token don't consider myself photogenic and also don't feel showing my face would contribute to improving my channel (possibly the opposite). I have in the past considered it and even put it out on my community whether people would want me to start showing my face and the majority where happy with me carrying on with my current format (read into that what you will).

I’ve been trying to start my KZbin channel but happen to procrastinate about it and put it off to the side. I’m not really experienced in the software world but I want to start a gaming channel. I also want to learn how to edit videos. If anyone has any suggestions please reply to this comment.

While some of my videos are on serious topics, I'm able to bring some light hearted humor into them, all without showing my face, but using text, clips etc . However, some of my subs keep asking me to do live videos either by myself, which would be impossible for how I do my videos, or to join others in their live videos within my niche, but that would most likely be strange as I'd be the only one using a static photograph for me. Strangely, I can get up on stage sing, dance and act but I can't do that kind of thing when it comes to my KZbin channel!

If you're a beginner, start simple to avoid intricate editing and gradually build your skills. Editing an info-packed faceless video is very time consuming and could be off-putting if you don't like editing.

We make educational videos. We have deliberately chosen not to show people in our film. We say: We convey a message from the author of the theoretical model - we are not part of the message. We have 11700 subscribers. The big question is, would we have more subscribers and visitors if we showed ourselves? Thanks for the good channel - it makes us think about the subjects in a new way!
