Ads across all streaming platforms have gottwn excessive. All platforms do this cut price ad supported service. And this also means they then increase the price of their normal premium service. Would be interested to see the corolation between pirating and the increasing cost of subscription streaming.
@NadestraightАй бұрын
Well, piracy is definitely on the rise since the pandemic. When everyone was locked inside their homes, subscriptions were sold more than ever before, as people felt like the spend had value, as all they were doing is binge watching shows/ movies all day while on furlough and making 90% of their wage for doing nothing. Now, people aren't willing to pay extra simply because of "inflation" when they're watching less of the service due to the world returning to normal, therefor piracy is at an all time high in many years!
@MatthewEatonАй бұрын
Just remember those prices are actually in AUD, not in USD. The article it was ripped from did state that it was AUD, but didn't put it on the image as a way to sensationalize the piece and get people to click on it. There will still be two pay models, but it won't be that pricing that you see on the image.
@NadestraightАй бұрын

But no they wanna keep charging the jackpot and then still make you watch ads on top, so I'm gonna keep blocking them all and find every workaround on the planet and eventually switch platforms if I run out of solutions. The problem is also that you've became a product and paying customer at the same time. They show you ads and you even pay for it. It's madness. Were you annoyed that last time you did that on Tumblr every one made fun of you and YOUR OWN STAFF made a post basically saying "we don't claim him" so you started the drama on Wordpress instead???) so I'm happy to give to the nice staff members that have been there through the repeating buying and selling of the website. KZbin Premium is already more expensive than the standard tier of Netflix($15.49 -which has no ads) and with the new price update it will be as expensive as the highest premium tier of netflix($22.99). I honestly feel the people who are getting screwed the most are the content creators. uBlock Origins still doesn't get flagged(and they're constantly updating it to keep it that way) and even if KZbin makes the ads client-side people can still watch the videos through a video player that doesn't play ads. At this point, the viewers have no incentive to watch ads because its too much and the content creators get less revenue. I used to watch ads because it would support the content creators I enjoyed but I myself had to make the switch because there is just too many ads(collectively and back to back).
