I want to give an aloe testimonial. My mom was taking a turkey out of the oven and splashed the hot juices from the pan onto her arms and a little on her chest. Someone is saying get the butter, I'm yelling noooo, run under cool water.....and I can't remember who grabbed the aloe vera plant and started breaking it up, we squeesed every drop from that plant after she ran the juices off with cool running water. She continued patting the aloe into her skin until bed along with motrin and cool compresses. Next morning she had zero evidence of any burn except about a dime sized spot on her neck, which was treated with aloe and also disappeared. I'm a 100% believer, and encourage everyone to keep a real aloe plant in your kitchen! The one that day was relatively small and didn't survive the holidays, but it was well worth whatever it cost!
@bellesouth30522 жыл бұрын
Yes, aloe is great for burns! I keep a plant specifically for the skin injuries.
@Veronhamtea8 ай бұрын
Omg I had the same experience i splashed the hot drippings from the turkey on my hand and I did the same thing with the aloe plant and there literally was nothing on my hand. I was amazed and so happy. The drippings were about 400 degrees

Great info. I personally use skinmedica eye cream, Retin A at night, skinceuticals CE ferulic acid in the am + moisturizer and tinted sunscreen. The products might sound expensive but retin-a can last you 6 months, ferulic acid ~4, eye cream 5-6 maybe months. There is only so much topical treatments can do.

It took me so long to realize that the sun actually makes my acne worse. Mineral sunscreen is the number one best thing I have done for my previously oily acne prone skin. And definitely much better for dark spots than unprotected sun exposure.
@somethingkindawonderful30342 жыл бұрын
What sunscreen do you like / use for your acne prone skin
@whoah5672 жыл бұрын
@@somethingkindawonderful3034 typically anything with zinc oxide. The zinc oxide itself actually helps oily skin because it is slightly drying and seems to absorb any extra oil. So far the pipette, meow meow tweet, attitude, and arbonne ones are relatively easy to blend. The arbonne one feels really nice but kinda expensive. Cerave also feels nice on the skin but takes a while to blend. And then australian gold is great for a tinted sunscreen but hard to get a hold of sometimes. Bunch more that I have not tried though.

If you're willing to purchase online from overseas then I highly suggest the Rovectin mineral sunscreen. It's amazing and has the most minimal white cast I've experienced, but can't speak to darker skin tones (I'm light tan with olive undertones). Doesn't sting at all, not drying, and has a reasonable price.

INGROWN HAIRS- anyone who is struggling with them here is something that literally saved me- IPL Phillips Lumea- so much cheaper than laser removal but if you use it consistently it will do wonders. I saw first changes after a month or month and a half...I have used it for a longer time and now I almost have no hair and no ingrown hairs anywhere...hair that did come back are so soft and almost invisible. The only downside is if you have light hair (especially red) or dark skin it will not work good or almost at all

Just bc a ingredients is good for most people dies not mean YOUR skin will like it (vit C as a dedicated serum is a no for me) .. higher % is NOT better (my niacinamide works at 5% or less my retinol 0.1%) give it time to work you I give any products 6 weeks unless I see it causing me a issue. Skinceuticals is NOT worth the money, because timeless makes a CEFerulic acid for 20 bucks, and worse, you could put that money toward an in office procedure that will do much more. If you can get a way better result from an in office procedure for a similar price, then a topical is definitely not worth it.

Women with acne and or hair loss: if minoxidil and spironolactone work, you have insulin resistance! And you are on the way to type 2 diabetes. These are blood pressure meds. Higher insulin bumps up your blood pressure via increases in aldosterone, an androgen. You don't have to be fat either, or have high BP. I took spironolactone for 20 years and never understood why I had acne. I was never overweight, no high BP, and yet, when I went on a super low carb diet and fasting, the acne stopped. I read this in the book Why We Get Sick by Dr Ben Bikman. I fixed myself. My derms had no idea, ditto my gynecologist. I am going thru menopause now and the acne got worse, which when you are losing your sex hormones, this made no sense to me. I was Mediterranean, pescatarian, and even vegan for years. High carb, even as whole grainscanc starchy vegetables fed my insulin resistance.
