The Cocomelon controversy basically highlights one of the problems with parents today. Parents expect a video screen to babysit their children and keep them quiet so that the parents are undisturbed. Instead of looking after their children they just want them out of the way until they decide to interact with them but then they get upset when the child would rather stay with the "babysitter" than interact with the parent.

Oh yeah, when they're either 13 or 14. Giving them ipad at an early age will ruin their mental health. Parents have always been like this since TV existed. I was born 1987 and remember the TV being on all day replaying Disney, Don Bluth, and Looney Tunes in the background while I played with toys or drew. We had a video tape that consisted of a compilation of 50 Looney Tunes, popeye, and Mickey Mouse shorts, and it literally RIPPED from being played so often. The only difference from back then is that my parents chose what I watched by buying tapes and actually sitting down with me to watch them whereas kids nowadays are watching all these things on their own with no vetting from their parents. Cocomelon is actually brainrot for children and intentionally made to catch their attention; I'd rather watch a 22 minute toy ad pretending to be educational kid's television than 2-3 mins of flashing colors and repetitive phrases pretending to be children's music...

But the real reason why the song is disliked is more than just its mediocracy. I will just list out the crux so that you can search it yourself. 1. KSI is one of the three founders of a lunchbox company called Lunchly which is mainly targetted towards kids. The company is currently in fire because the cheese they use in Lunchly was found out to be unsafe. 2. Referencing point 1, a KZbinr named DanTDM tweeted on how KZbinrs are exploiting their young audience just for minting money and inserted a third-party's tweet talking about Lunchly's introduction. It was a genuine criticism. But KSI took it personally and started harassing Dan to the point that Dan started living in KSI's head to this day. 3. The other two founders Logan Paul and MrBeast were already hated enough before KSI so people were already skeptical enough of Lunchly. KSI is just receiving a collateral of it.

JoJo is actually extremely smart about her career and image. Not perfect, but not oblivious like this comment makes it sound. If the Karma incident wasn't mostly intentional, she would not have reacted the way that she did to it. She's very "any attention is good attention" which, as long as you aren't doing anything actually wrong, is true and very smart.
