Hey Ken! I am hungry now! 🤣 Jon and I love Italian dishes! and we agree with you! we love to prepare other dishes besides grilling burgers and steak. Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak were the places we missed due to us not wanting to leave the San Juan Mountains. Lazy buggers! 🤣joke... I got a real bad bug. (Seiry) Well, thanks for the information, Ken... definitely not telling Jon the cost of the train! 😆 🤣🤣btw... loved the video!

Thanks. Yes have to make full timing feel like home more and cooking can help. Yes the train was expensive but more enjoyable than taking the SuperDuty up there. Garden of the Gods was nice but if I had to choose between the 2 I would take Pikes Peak!

That was a great way to start the morning. A new RoadSMITHS video and a cup of coffee. Colorado just got fast tracked to the top of the list for next year's itinerary. That tram/train may be a good retirement gig for some old engineer when the time comes. Thanks for the 'talian tips, veal is going in the meatballs and the canned tomatoes are on the grocery list. -Ron

Thank you for taking us along, beautiful country. Colorado is definitely a place we need to visit! My mom always put a little sugar in red sauce and we still do it.

You are welcome...thanks. Colorado is stunning, at least in the mountains. Yes a little sugar helps...too much will ruin it though.

We just visited both the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak a few weeks ago. We did the trolley tour with Wils Bill and drove to the Peak for donuts and had a picnic on the way back down. Beautiful! Your dinner looked delicious!

We can hardly wait till we start traveling. I cant wait to start cooking on the road. When we are camping now, it's just quick things like burgers and stuff . When we start traveling, it will be a more relaxed time. I'm sure it will allow for more cooking time. I'm sure the food tastes WAY better on the road. I'm not sure if I can do those heights since I have a lung condition, and even though I'm sure the views aren't as good as what you see, thanks for showing us those AWESOME sights.

You are welcome. There are plenty of places in Colorado that are not as high that are just stunning! Cooking more complex things on the road, while more challenging makes it feel a bit more like home.

We loved Garden of the Gods! Such striking landscape. You got some beautiful footage. We did not go up to Pikes Peak. We were there off season, our only option would have been to drive up there, and it was snowing. So, we passed on it. Hopefully next time! "Are they airy?" Ugh, what a Dad joke! 🤣 Always love a great sauce. We love tomato paste in a tube! We just recently discovered it after watching one of our favorite cooking channels. End result looked delicious. Look forward to part 2! - Jim & Michelle

If you get back this way...definitely get to Pikes Peak. Who does not love a good Dad jike occasionally. Haha. While traveling its easy just to buy jarred sauce...and we do at times...but making it fresh just feels good!!

Your lovely supper reminded me.🍷🍷...I could use a lesson or 2. Lookin forward to part 2...👏👏‼️

Rob. Thanks so much that means a lot. It is a labor of love and feeds my creative side since I can’t have my drums with me. Haha. I was born in NJ but my family moved back to Staten Island when I was 3. Very Italian there. Haha. I had a couple of friends whose parents made their own wine. My mom made great sauce and cheesecake. I swear the cheescake weighed 20 lbs and it was only 3 inches high. haha.

Great video! Love the view from the top. How do they cook the dough nuts for up there? They would have get them up there some how! Fascinating to know. It looked like nice weather there. The sauce looked good Ken. The pasta too. I might try and make it. Thank you for cooking that up! And giving the recipe. I saw you both in Joel and Tanya’s video last week. They are pretty funny. And so are you. How’s it going in the Lance? Can’t believe summer is almost over already! Hope you both have a great weekend and week and see you soon! Safe travels.

The sauce is easy to make and yes you can buy good jarred sauce but it just feels better to make it fresh. The Lance is doing well...no real issues...just tighter interior space but we are getting more used to it.
