Christian KZbinr Logan Mayberry released a video claiming he met Jesus and Satan, and filmed it. Is it just clickbait? Has he had a remarkable religious experience, or is his newfound faith an avenue to get more clicks on the internet?

Do you think Logan has renewed faith, or is it all fabricated for views? Is the title pure clickbait? I’d love to hear your thoughts down below! (No trolling Logan though! If you do visit his channel as a result of this video, spread a little love or be a quiet observer. Hate is bad no-no). If you’re not sure what to say, do me a favour and comment [fart noise] down below, it really helps the algorithm and also is extremely funny :]

This guy is exactly the epitomy of Christianity: finding ways to benefit off of struggling people so he can make money and go home to his nice neighborhood where everyone looks like him so he can feel good about himself because he stooped down to the level of the poor and downtrodden to throw them a little bone and feel good about it because sky daddy was proud of him. Obviously not all Christians are like that but that's the Christianity I see all too often.

Hi fellow pagans!!! And yes, it is fun/irritating to feel smug/annoyed when I pass by the dumb “Jesus is the reason for the season” signs and have 18 reasons why he’s most definitely NOT pop immediately into my head. When my husband and I have our own place (we currently live in a back house so if we decorated, no one would see it), I want to put up “Odin is the reason for the season” signs. My husband just sighed and asked me to not get us kicked out of whatever neighborhood we move into. He supports my beliefs and dislikes the Jesus signs as much as I do, he just doesn’t want me to start a holy war on our block. 😂

That's a very old testament view, that the ugly/visibly ill/disabled/those with birth defects are inherently evil because they bear the mark of wickedness on their flesh. There's a reason the Hunchback of Notre Dame... is even a story that exists. The point was he was cloistered away for fear the Christian citizens of Paris would kill him, and Frollo didn't save Quasimodo out of Godly duty to HIM, but to his (pretty) mother whom he accidentally killed. It's barbaric superstitious caveman logic that shoulda been left in the dustbin of history. But, here we are.

As someone who was briefly homeless recently, I ended up in a Christian shelter. It was very difficult to deal with, because they sort of made me feel like a pariah for not attending daily worship. I never announced that I'm a non-believer. But, just not attending seemed to upset them. But, there are extremely few secular charities here in the States and I haven't found any that have shelter. I find it noteworthy that his entire story about the drug addict/sex worker woman shows absolutely no empathy. He mentions over and over how sad he felt at her situation, but it's always HIS feelings. He's sad because she's on drugs, sad because she's engaging in prostitution, sad because she's too pretty (wtf?) for this, but he never feels sad out of empathy for her own pain. Instead, it's like the instant he realizes she's "on drugs and alcohol" he assumes she's incapable of having any kind of inner life. It all sends shivers down my spine, and not the kind that mean I've got God holding on Line 2. Ick.

@@katheryne-bois I think a lot of people just don't understand how somebody can do sex work willingly? Then again, if you like sex and connecting with new people, it sounds like a pretty good business to be in. Maybe it's easier for me to understand because I've lived in Amsterdam for a while. I know at least one person who has done sex work in a club and enjoyed it. I also know a few people who are fierce allies and help raise awareness for the unfair treatment of sex workers by society. They are generally simply small business owners, but it's hard for them to open a bank account or find an accountant, because even though it's legal around here, it's still a bit taboo.

As someone who also grew up Pentecostal, this guy may very well not be lying at all. He probably believes everything he says. How he talked, the crying, the confirmation bias and genuinely believing that his emotions are God Talking… that’s all programmed in. Not to object to your conclusion, but I do feel I have to object to using crying as evidence of belief. Your emotions are a response to thought, not to actual events. If you make up a sad story and tell it, you will feel the emotions as if the story is happening in real time. It can make you cry because you are imagining it. It's not evidence that it actually happened or that you believe(d) it. It's evidence that the words that come out of your mouth are also in your mind, but we already knew that. Last week I went to eat dinner with my mother at her church. The woman sitting next to me was going on about how she just had to -praise Jesus ! That the recent tornado didn’t break her figurines . I asked about the peoples homes that were destroyed ? Did she think they weren’t praying their homes would be saved ? Was god mad at them ? Had they forgotten to be forgiven if their sins recently enough ? Why were their homes destroyed by god and hers wasn’t ? She had no response and asked what I thought . I said , sometimes weather just happens . Praise god your house was saved : It’s just gods will if your homes destroyed . Total cult . Gods always infallible - it’s your own fault of bad things happen and gods grace if good things happens . Absurd .

I haven't gotten to the end yet. But let me say, as a person in recovery from addiction and homelessness (and also as someone who has worked with three Jesus-es), and also a former Christian.. This guy grinds my gears. How condescending, first off. Second off, way to exploit this poor woman's story for views. Yeah, you 'couldn't get anywhere with her' because you're not even trying to meet her at a level she can relate to and probably didn't spend more than 10 mins "trying." Saying "God" does not make people fall to the floor with grief that they've strayed from the flock, even devout Christians in addiction. Who even is this guy? People need help. Like months and months of help from professionals who know what they're doing and base their process on science and what actually works. Sure, you can add religion to the mix if the individual finds that helpful, spirituality can be powerful, but like.. I've made it 6 years clean without ever turning back to religion. And I would have been way more put off by my treatment facility if they pushed religion. Luckily, most of our workers were non-religious and didn't ever push this idea that you need god to stay sober. Sorry for the rant. I just feel a bit.. Upset by this guy. I know people like this and it's just like they don't live in the harsh reality with the rest of us. What do you expect to accomplish doing what he and his friends do? Driving around like that? The only success they'll find is someone who was already Christian who feels immensely guilty for letting God down. Religious guilt adds an entirely new (horrible) layer to psychological issues, and best case, these guys just send an already broken person over the edge into more guilt that may, MAY, possibly get them to seek some actual help. Doubtful, though. But they're not out there changing lives like they seem to think they have the power to.

Congrats to you on being clean. To add my experience to this, I was in the hospital a few years ago for psych issues. They had an AA meeting there so I went for curiosity and because I had literally nothing to do. It felt so unsettling that there were these people who claimed to be powerless and only faith was keeping them from alcohol and everything, meanwhile they were clean for years. It felt like a vicious cycle with faith and resisting addictions (if they really had addictions) and they really pushed the whole "pray your troubles away" thing (which in itself was something I saw too often from "preachers" at my uni). I started therapy after being in the hospital with a therapist who is religious but not once had pushed faith on me (in fact she actively encourages me to use my own reasoning/counsel and never throws God or prayer into it). I consider myself lucky I didn't heed the advice of the AA people and instead listened to my therapist. I know I'd be even more of a mess than I was back then otherwise. This guy definitely brought back memories of that whole AA thing and it irks me a lot too. You wanna do the religion thing? Cool, but why not first help them empower themselves first rather than just throw a prayer and an attempt at conversion their way? I can say from experience that religious guilt does not help at all. It just makes things worse.

Fuck I’m genuinely about to start sobbing. My ex-lover grew up on the streets and took drugs daily before we met. He had to live in that environment and ultimately, after a traumatic event happened, it shattered him and he fled right back into his despair. Not only was I abandoned but I had to watch somebody dear to my heart suffer immensely. For this man to make a mockery of something that destroyed the person I loved, that tears apart families, that kills and ravages the poor and hopeless, it makes me absolutely sick. How dare he use his religion to minimize these very real struggles. How dare he prey upon these people. How dare he make money exploiting them. If there is a hell, I hope this man rots in it

I am also very sorry that there are people who are so fucked up in the head that they'd promote their fantasies with such disregard for reality and the emotional (and practical) impacts that come with real life experiences. If it's any consolation, there is probably no hell, but people like that will always have their personality with them, just like you and I. When you're in deep shit, you probably have people who know and love you to help you and comfort you. When he's in deep shit, he _is_ in the hell he has created. "There was like this metal bar fence, and she was hanging onto it, while he was trying to pull her towards him, and this was in an area where no one was going to do anything." - paraphrasing this guy. How the hell, is he who was with another grown adult, not going to even try to intervene. In general there is the concept of if a group of people witness something in public they all expect someone else to call the cops, but he expressly rules that out. Why would he or his friend not intervene if they feel so certain, no other aid will come? And then he is so affected by it, like that woman is not the victim, he is. What?! Then he prayed for one of the people around the girl and that was good enough?!
@jospinner1183
@jospinner1183 3 жыл бұрын
This. If you see a potential crime taking place, and it's safe to intervene, then the moral, ethical thing to do is to intervene. (However, calling the cops may not be the right answer here, either, considering the woman was already on some type of probation, was (supposedly) engaging in sex work, and was intoxicated. Cops are pretty good at turning on victims in situations like this.)

the love of my life has been homeless multiple times, and is an addict in recovery. this shit makes me SO. MAD. evangelists like this don't actually care about the people they claim to want to help - actually helping people requires listening to what they need and helping them get it. that woman asked for a dollar, and they wouldn't give it to her. instead they kept pestering her to get in their car with them?? which i am SO glad she didn't do, because it shows that she was aware enough of her surroundings and conscientious enough to be able to protect herself. they actually did help that little boy and his mom, but not in the exact ways they asked for. it's entirely possible that they were grateful for the clothes/food/etc, but it's so invasive of logan and adam to just insert themselves into this family's life? idk, this gives me the same vibes as vigilanteism. like, if you really wanted to help, you could work through proper/respectful channels...but it's way more about you and your image than it is about the people you claim to care about.

You can do good deeds without filming it or tying it with conversion. If you must make videos about it, especially if that is how you're able to afford to help out, fine, but don't dehumanize the people you are claiming to help. Saying that there was a demon inside a guy just because he was drunk and/or high is literally demonizing him.

His tears seem very real (at least at the beginning when he started cracking) but he's just pumping himself up emotionally, like he's a victim of his own piano music.

*cue plaintive piano music* I met Cthulhu once. Nice guy. Really considerate too; he asked me HOW I wanted to be horrifically killed when he returns. No one's ever actually given ME the option before. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn, and all that. *sniffs, wipes eyes* I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm just so emotional about it.

Poor people panhandle in order to survive. It's the craziest thing. I never thought I'd see anything like it!

I do find it amusing that someone fervently praying and someone high as a kite on drugs are so easily mistaken for one another.

If I were to try to tell anyone "god has a plan for you" I think I would vomit before I got halfway through the sentence. It goes against my core self that hard

I think parts of this may be sincere, but for the most part its obvious manipulation. That damn music is pure torture as far as I'm concerned.

6:00 While secular charities are preferable to religious charities, I would like to add that government programs are preferable to both. Charity can be revoked easily by the philanthropist, which gives them a form of power over the beneficiaries of charity. Getting the social safety net out of the hands of private and religious capital is one of the most important accomplishments of various socialist (and to a lesser extent liberal) political movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It's disheartening to see how successful conservative (and to a lesser extent liberal) political movements have been recently at undoing that work.
