Did this give you some ideas for your own setup? Let me know!

I go back and forth with the idea of using a big monitor. I often use an iPad Pro (12.9”) in Sidecar mode while working on a MacBook Pro 13” M1 and that often is enough. Every time I see your desk I think about getting a monitor though. Great video, Javier. I need to make the rounds more so I can see your work.

Sure man! Thanks for this video, was just perfect. I am the guy that sent you a message on the website asking about your beginning on YT. This is very inspiring, I felt like this video was for me. Thanks man!

Thanks for sharing! I’m deaf and use sign language so have no need for the XLR splitter set up but that is a very creative solution. I’m all about optimizing production so it was nonetheless satisfying! I have a question for you: what advantages does Camtasia offer over OBS, or why do you prefer it over OBS? To give you some context, I'm an experienced video editor and have used OBS for years for screen recordings, live streams, multicams etc. Just wondering what I'm missing, if anything, with Camtasia

Probably already been said, but you can tighten the tension on the legs of Manfrotto tripods (most anyway). The tripod comes with a little tool/wrench that's attached to one of the legs.
@JavierMercedes
@JavierMercedes 2 жыл бұрын
@@nadamuchu I've tried all the different screen recorders over the years and Camtasia seems to give me the best quality that I've seen. Not knocking OBS though because I use that all the time for live-streaming too. Since the bulk of my content is screen recordings, I just wanted to find the best one I could find.

@JavierMercedes
@JavierMercedes 2 жыл бұрын
How so? The next lens I would want to get is the Sony 24mm but I haven't seen the need for it with the kind of content I've been making.
@phucmapvlog
@phucmapvlog 2 жыл бұрын
@@JavierMercedes no disrespect, I just look at your channel as more professional all around. in terms of 50 mm, the choices that I see other filmmakers making are: 1) 50mm f/1.2 GM 2) 50mm f/1.4 3) 55mm f/1.8. As for the wide range, I had this struggle myself when making my purchase. I went with a Sigma 14 to 24, but out of the other options at that range, the Sony 16-35F/4 seemed to be the most boring.
@JavierMercedes
@JavierMercedes 2 жыл бұрын
For sure, I think part of it comes from renting the lenses I need for certain jobs. In that case I normally show up with the 24m 1.4, a 70-200, or the 24-70 2.8 etc etc. The 50 and the 16 were my first lens purchases. The lower aperture on lenses would be nice, but honestly after buying my aputure 120d light , it has allowed me to mot have to worry about noise as much in my shots. The 16-35 f/4 is for sure boring but I like the oss and it gets the job done when I need it too.

Hey Javier, I'm currently in love with the animated paper cutout effect seen in game theory and TommyInnit story time videos. I believe they use After Effects, but Im curious if there's a way to do that effect with premiere? Keep up the great videos they're helping me learn a lot of new techniques thank you very much. Cheers, Vubbs

Hi Javier, maybe you can do a video on this if it's going to be a long detailed response for you, but can you explain how you record your videos in terms of yourself, do you script way before, go off notes, how long does a video take etc? I'm really wanting to get into the world of KZbin tutorials as I feel like it will also help me develop myself more, but at the same I try to record myself and find myself dragging on, slurring some speech and just losing the point of what I am trying to say.

I tried many combinations of sending my mixer signal to the camera but the audio is never as good as what I have got with using a splitter. One of the best investments I made in the last year for my kind of videos.

For the bulk of my KZbin career I used the shure SM7B on screen but it does get in the way sometimes when doing these kind of videos. Having the boom has really helped with freeing up the space and not worrying about having the mic in the right position whenever I turn my head.
