I am in shock: off-stage Mel is a lot more savvy than her Hololive persona but goofing up like Rushia is totally unexpected. I do not watch her streams regularly, but everything she did on her 3D live shows was absolute magic, one of the two top girls in this respect. While the early departure of Chris did not impact on what Gen1 came to be, these five girls were wonderful as individuals and as a team. I guess Gen2 and Gen6 are the only intact ones now...

This just sounded like an honest mistake on her part and something the company more than likely felt terrible in doing but because a contract is a contract and it has to be followed, they had to let her go. It must've been not as bad as Rushia due to the fact even Yagoo and A-chan said something and wished her the best and this wasn't a thing with Rushia back then which means cover and Mel knew something was wrong and both were on the same page. Let's just not harass the talents or the company for specifics because we're not getting it unless cover decides to disclose all the info other than "she leaked info to a third party". "Non-Disclosure Agreement" is what it's called and the ones that should only know it's contents are the company and the talents themselves, fans are out of that equation so don't expect or get frustrated that we're not getting concrete answers because there won't be.

I have no dislike for any of the talents of Hololive and hope for all of their success. NDA gotta NDA. It really sucks, while I'm not an avid fan of Mel, i liked to hear from her time to time. At the same time... if we go by the jp notice, she recognized her error and decided to go with the termination in good terms, and tbh, it might not be easy for both Cover and Mel. Losing a funding member is hard. What as a fan one can feel reasured is that Mel's PL in yt at least is midsized for a japanese channel, at least she has something to fallback. (She also has a Niconico and a fanbox with a 10,000yen category so I think she isnt going to have problems in a short term.). It hurts, but... there's nothing more you can do when it comes to NDA.

Edit: rewording This is a prime example of why you should pay attention to what you're doing. Not paying attention and accidentally leaking something is a sign you either aren't quite good enough at keeping secrets, or you are getting burnt out most likely if you have been going for years. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter in this case as time and stress can wear a person down. And of course, this can be a very stressful field. Also a good idea to be vague when saying you can't do something, like just saying you have prior obligations.

leaking information isn't just things you'd deem important, it can be things deemed unimportant as well, it depends on the contract. Some NDAs don't let you disclose ANYTHING, and I mean anything at all, like not even the brand of soap they used in the restrooms where you worked. This is all speculation on my part, but it's very possible it was something merchandise related or collab related. It could be something as innocuous sounding as "I can't join the call, I'm working on a collab with X at that time" to "We're releasing Y pretty soon and I can get it for you early, just don't tell anybody." These situations, it's almost always something the leaker thought would be harmless or an accidental slip like my first quote example.

So we won't get any info on the specifics other than she leaked info to a third party unless cover decides to disclose it themselves or the person that got these "leaked info" decides to tell it to the world. It seems like from what they've posted, the leaking was going for a while. They went and monitored where the leak was coming from and it seems that the ones who were previous sponsors were her recievers. The line "leaking information to third parties that she acquired from the company" is where I'm hinging this speculation to. I might be misremembering but Rushia's case was the outsider has insider information and Rushia was found the one leaking it by having personal contact with that outsider. If my speculation is true then the no-no she did was disclose Cover's sponsorship policy that hurts Cover's negotiating power on the table when someone wants to sponsor a stream. Of course, this is my speculation and I hope I'm wrong on it. It's just that the wording on that statement is weird.

@@cn8299 okay listen, i didn't mean proper research as in conducting a week long project of dedicated research or whatever-- or hell, not even a day or some shit; what I'm really trying to say is, i dont get the impression that this dude went *any* further than the original post in the video, which is whats annoying me. Even just a "I did my best to dig for more information on this but was not able to find anything" would have been enough to me. It's just starting to annoy me that so many KZbinrs just read a single tweet out loud and go 'what could this possibly mean' without spending any more effort in an attempt to find out, you know?? At this point, this just feels like clout farming

nothing lasts forever. the early generations reaching 5 years itself, is already amazing and soon they gonna retire. like maybe in their year 7 or something. they're GIRLS. Female need to marry quick because the appearance starts getting ugly and also because the 25-30 is the good age for having a baby or two. mel here, indeed sad because she could do more before her official retirement that will happen soon. but.. it's also okay since they're already on the edge though. they're all also lived a pretty well life, I guess.
