Love my Decoy. First one in US to buy 2019 pro race model. Have about 6000 miles on mine...not bad for 65 yrs old. Have 2 batteries to ping/pong swap so can really ride forever. Been down for a year with health troubles, so loved seeing your video. Thanks.

Once you own one and you start getting comfortable with it you start realizing you can climb more dangerous, technical uphill sections (on a heavy bike be at that) that you just can't on your regular bike. DP doesn't exactly have those kinds of climbs but all mountain you'll definitely get a whole new experience. Also, if fitness is something you're worried about there are tons of options to achieve that. From a very low assist mode, to letting the bike change modes to match heart rate, power output, battery life, distance. It's pretty much a trainer that moves and you can descend on. Plus you're throwing around a heavy bike so you'll get a good upper body work out too. Just don't get comfortable on turbo.. Use it for only the steepest climbs! Also, to keep your front wheel from lifting on steep climbs slam your seat so your weight is over the back wheel and then lean over your bars. =) Good vid! Congrats on your double! That trail is really fun!

Thank you Jake! We’d love to take these out on a long high country ride, like you said I think it’s technical climbing strengths would definitely shine there and you could put in a ton of miles!

Great video! So cool that YT has this program. We took our whole family out to demo bikes one day. It was a blast!

Nice!! Ya it’s a great way to get not only experienced riders, but new riders onto their bikes as well! Glad you enjoyed the experience as much as we did 🤙

Great bike review. Sounds like the YT e-bike is amazing. Really appreciate to hear Wendy's thoughts on it, especially jumping. Way to go Wendy. Thanks again for the great neutral biased video. I may have to go down south and try one myself.

Nice video guys. I've only spent about 15 minutes on my friends e-Fattie that he uses for backcountry hunting. I must admit I've been intrigued by e-bikes and a 40 pound full-suspension sounds much more manageable and fun than his 80 pound behemoth.
@ridingwithjoshandwendy
@ridingwithjoshandwendy Жыл бұрын
Wow, 80 lbs is a lot!! To be honest I’ve been in the “e-bikes don’t count as mountain biking” camp, and I still feel like I would describe it as a different discipline or maybe even different sport (somewhere between moto and mtb), but super fun nonetheless!!

This model bike weighs 50.5lbs in size Large with pedals. 40lb. e-bikes are available but with much smaller motors many refer to them as SL

Great video! What size frame were you on? (Sorry if you said it and I missed it.) Looking at the reach specs, looks like I would be on an XL which seems crazy to me. I'm currently on a size Large Banshee Paradox V3.

Thank you! I was on a large, which at 6’1” felt good! I think erring on the smaller size made the bike feel a bit more manager in the corners and jumping, but the long frame would increase stability that much more at high speed

I'm leaning on purchasing a Decoy, curious how tall Josh is and what size bike he was on. Thanks!

It’s a super fun bike! I’m 6’1” and was on a L. I’m right in between sizes but prefer a slightly smaller bike

@@ridingwithjoshandwendy did you feel cramped at all? I prefer a little smaller myself. Great video, and I really appreciate the response!

Of course, that’s why I do this haha! And no it didn’t, the large has a 482 mm reach which if anything is on the long side of large frames. Honestly felt pretty perfect for me, but again I prefer a bit smaller frame than most. If you do too I think I’d definitely go with the L over the XL
@michaelrose5204

Cool, thank you. I thought the website showed the large with a 449mm reach. That number was concerning

Have you priced bikes? You get a Decoy for less than $5000. Check prices on other brands like Specialized, way more expensive.

THE WORST BIKE COMPANY EVER! I bought a Decoy in 2020, terrible service 5 weeks for a 'Stock' bike. One ride and rear hub made a loud noise. Turned out it didn't have any grease in! Had to borrow a wheel! The charger they sent Was a continental version! After 3 years the battery won't charge as 2 bolts mysteriously disappear. £500 for a new battery! I had Orange bikes for 15 years, brilliant service! So are Hope. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!
