Exactly! Why destroy spell and traps when you can just banish them and get a beater on top of it! Day 1258 of waiting for Felgrand to turned into a proper archetype. (Start date being the worldwide release of the structure deck, end date is including today) As a side note, I'd like to point out that for some reason more and more people have been talking about felgrand this past couple of weeks and it makes me very happy! Yeah I think he got that partially wrong when he mentioned Evenly Match. Evenly Match is used for punishing established boards, not just backrow, hence it being able to banish any card face down, not just S/T.

I run typhoon in paleo, as i can run through my own backrow really fast, and love having that it in my sideboard for when my opponents run too much backrow, or have more backrow than i can handle with my main deck backrow hate. Twin dusters is maindecked, unquestioned. Handle any and all backrow, and trigger everything. I like to keep both galaxy and cosmic cyclones in the main deck as well, one banishes backrow, the other can be used from the grave to handle floodgates, and dropping it off of dinomischus means i can do whatever i want come my turn.

This is such a great idea. I'm glad u mentioned that about evenly. I keep finding I can't use it coz I hav cards on the field but everyone claims it's a mandatory 3 of in the side. Twin is so good becoz u can use it aggressively on your turn and then do it on the opponent's turn

As a backrow player (Altergeist and PaleoFrogs, mostly), I hate all of these cards. People don’t play enough to merit main decking Waking the Dragon (best side deck card ever, but completely dead if they don’t have removal for it), but often enough that they’re always a threat.

So if you're watching this in like 2022 there are some cards that could be on here as well (because of some unhits and some newer cards as well): Harpie's Feather Duster: Not quite a staple at the time of writing this (June 2022) but is definitely a very powerful card, so *popular category* Lightning Storm: Great card, also not quite the staple at the moment, but very popular nonetheless. *Popular category* Night Beam: Not the best, but this format is quite good against a lot of decks that play very good backrow cards but mostly only 1 of them is on the field at the time.

Can someone explain why anyone would play typhoon over MST? It just seems like they’re the same card, but typhoon is restricted to face up cards and its immediate use is limited for when you don’t have backrow.

Gotta disagree about Galaxy Cyclone, it's very good in Mekk-Knights as something to set for the column and activate in same turn, unlike Cosmic or Twin. Also, Typhoon is crazy against the Orcust combo where they end with IP and Babel, if you hit Babel in the end phase with Typhoon it's GG.

Typhoon is very imbalanced. It’s either a blowout or an absolute brick in my experience. It’s bananas against Orcust-hitting Babel in the end phase-and against Subterrors, Striker, Pendulum and Draco, and any field-spell decks generally. If Salad and Thunder weren’t so prominent in the meta, I think it could be worth maining.

If we're counting Evenly as backrow removal, why not Pank? Pank is one of the most generically powerful side deck cards since it's so strong against backrow and still pretty good against combo decks.

You can't really get anything more than a vague idea of a card's power and usefulness by its popularity. Would be a bit more interesting you did a full study, ran multiple simulations and used machine learning. Makes me wonder how usable breaker is these days though, good for baiting out impermanence.
