I still play Quasar in black wings. It's a two card combo, doesn't go as far these days, but it's always funny, and with the other support like free grave yard pop, and other pops you can make it still does the things.

Sorry champ, but an omni like Quasar no matter how easy you make it wasn't that big of a threat in the tcg. It was all the cards you drew via Hyper Librarian and the synchros you climbed to get there that killed you.

It baffles me that Qussar Lavals never made an impact on the TCG like it did in the OCG. That deck consistently topped OCG events in 2011/2012.

Quasar was FAR more expensive here and price was a lot more of a factor back then in terms of being able to find out what the best decks are and who would bring it. Nowadays most people playing have a decent paying job and there's a sentiment that *competitive* yu-gi-oh is a luxury hobby now.

Molten conduction field didn't get released until a single pack before dragon rulers. So 2 or 3 years after it would have been relevant, and the exact same pack as evilswarm it's hardest possible counter.

Also the first consistent Quasar was a 3 card combo of Junk Warrior, Doppel Warrior, and Quickdraw. It may have been 3 cards, but between Rota, Allure, Upstart, Foolish Burial, Into the Void, and Tuning, it's far from inconsistent. Also the cardpool competiton of 2011 is a good bit weaker and less consistent than the pool of 2014 with HAT, Geargia, Infernity XYZ, and a metric ton of 1 of staple backrow and 1 for 1 removal that was seeing play.
