Thank you for making this. It is such a sweet tribute. It's hard to understand how so many people could have become so attached to a falcon chick that we only saw though the lens of a camera from many, many miles away, but somehow he captured the imaginations of people all over the world. The knowledge that he didn't survive is disheartening, but this video shows some of the most enjoyable and memorable moments of his short life. Thanks. 😢

🇭🇲 Given it is now late evening on the 29th September 2022 in Orange NSW Australia, and with the hatching of Diamond's and Xavier's first chick for 2022 imminent - any day soon! I thought what an appropriate time to finally view this wonderful video Tribute to Yurruga, which I just did. cont.. Although sad knowing what most likely happened to Yurruga (due to a terrible storm) it was a real joy to be 'reminded' of the character that he was, and of the fun and joy he brought to us all during his short (but eventful) life. We all had high hopes for Yurruga and he had the best of peregrine falcon parents (in Diamond and Xavier) but they (nor we) could have foreseen that storm. cont.. THIS VIDEO is a beautiful TRIBUTE to Yurruga. So well put together and I loved the music 🎶 🎶 too! "Thank you" so much Simoninna 👍 A job well done by you - and obviously with love in your heart 💓 YURRUGA will never be forgotten and let us hope that Yurruga 🌞 is at peace 🕊 somewhere over the rainbow 🌈 💓🦅

Thanks for posting, I started watching after Yurruga disappeared. I didnt realise how much more aggressive he was compared to Indigo & Rubus. He was constantly latching on to Mums beak, feet & tail mistaking them for food. Poor Diamond, she even had to scream at him one time to let go of her tail feather. He looked right at her like what? oops? 🥰

Je suis passée de l'émerveillement à l'étonnement, de la surprise à l'angoisse parfois... et puis Yurruga a pris son envol, et n'est plus réapparu... j'espère vraiment qu'elle/qu'il se trouve quelque part et vit sa belle vie de Faucon. Great video summary although I am not a fan of any music with wildlife videos. The video shows just how strong Yurruga's instinct for survival was and it was really great to see. I had not seen some of his more aggressive behaviour but I think it demonstrates his strong instinct for survival. It's just so sad that he fledged in some of the worst conditions for a young fledgeling and sadly he was lost. But that is how nature works, and it doesn't always go as we humans would like. Fingers crossed for a better result in 2022. Thanks @Simmonina for compiling this. It's a really great summary.

Yurruga died soon after he fledged. Too aggressive and noisy chicks tend to die soon. For example, Yurruga in 2021, Rubus in 2022.
