Dear Yusuf, my father taught me your song when I was a child. It was his way of explaining the world to me. He passed away last year but I've had the priviledge to say goodbye to him. I said to him that he could go in peace for he has raised well two brothers and he has a wonderful granddaughter. It was the last song I've listened with my father. Thank you so much for this precious gift. Be in peace!

I thank God that when my father was dying I was layed off work in 2008 and I got to sit by my father for the last 3 months of his life. I got to know him better than I ever did growing up and he was a wonderfull W.W 2 veteran who was a wonderful man. I got to work on this one trying to extend it into all fathers, because my own wasn´t and isn´t that good, and actually after last year me healing even the slightest of his damages, this year he made sure our relationship would now brake again because of the level of insults because he could not take a joke when I told him my sisters and I would now laugh so much because of seeing how in this life you harvest what you sew?... because him being neurotic we had to be like super extra careful with every little thing or the day would break. And now that we have kids, he´s the one having to be careful with that mouth of his. So... today, with the best sons I could wish for, I must at least thank him for giving me the life, even though abandoned young. And at the end of the day... it was with his records that I knew of Cat Stevens. I would spend hours looking at the covers and listening to Cat´s songs since childhood, so that along with many other positives we have to focus on. No doubt we can screw up until our last day on Earth, if life is for learning and we learn from mistakes, I understood we´re prone to make them till that final day. Happy fathers day to every single father out there, each with their own crosses to bear.

Yusuf/Cat Stevens Sir, I listened to this song 51 years ago when we were both young and could appreciate the sons stance clearly--felt we were not truly heard, how we just had to live our dreams and that no one could truly understand the deep feelings as an artist.. Now we both are older and can better see the father's side and understand exactly what his meaning was. Thank you for providing this timeless, heartfelt and deeply emotional song. Still loving it at age 61!

@@Feeding-Stray-Cats Hang on, but if you don't see other religions as less then you do not have faith any more than a punter has in a horse he put a bet in because she cannot decide what horse to gamble on but desperately wants to gamble wants to gamble as a first priority.

50 years.... I am only 29 and yet my mother and father when they were together would always listen to this... After they broke up I only heard my mum ever play it... My dad died 2 months ago and none of his children could attend his funeral because of this virus... Atleast when I listen to this I can hear how my dad loved me... I have 3 kids myself now.. I am old, But I'm happy.... Thanks for singing this again for us Yusuf. You are a light in a very dark world.

Still gorgeous song from a still beautiful, beautiful man. Even if he can’t hit all the high notes anymore what he gives is heartbreakingly authentic. So glad I got to be alive while he walks the earth and sings life’s glories.
